27-Year-Old Secures Historic Place in LA Galaxy Legacy
Joseph Paintsil, forward for LA Galaxy, set a new record for the club yesterday. During their match with Kansas City last night, Paintsil scored a hat-trick all before the end of the first half. This will be his first recorded hat-trick within his MLS career, and this now makes him the third person in Galaxy’s history to accomplish this. It was truly incredible to see how Paintsil was able to achieve this within a quick and timely manner; as he scored during the third minute, 25th minute, and finally right before the halftime whistle, the 43rd minute. It was a great way to start the match and prove to Kansas City that they were taking the lead. Last night, the Galaxy had nothing but smiles on their faces as they finished the match victoriously with a 4-1 win.
Looking back, 2024 was a big year for Joseph Paintsil as he was beginning to establish his professional soccer career. Last year, he was signed by the LA Galaxy, and by the end of his first season with them, he secured 14 goals and eight total assists. It was a great introduction and start to his career in the MLS. This was also the same year that he was called to be a player on Ghana’s National Team for the Africa Cup of Nations Qualifying matches. Now in his second MLS season, Paintsil has made a total of nine goals and two assists so far. Last night's victorious win and hat-trick secured Joseph Paintsil a historical place within LA Galaxy’s legacy, joining previous Galaxy players Robbie Keane and Alejandro Moreno.
Paintsil also has an exciting career ahead of him. In late August, it was reported that he would be joining Ghana’s National Team, again, yet this time, for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifying Matches. For both club and country, Paintsil’s pace, creativity, and finishing ability make him an enjoyable forward to look out for. His precision in last night’s game only proved that Paintsil is continuing to play with a determined directive as he made each goal with confidence and purpose. For the rest of the season, Paintsil will continue to be a driving offensive force for Galaxy as he hopefully continues with the same momentum and drive that he displayed last night.
