This puts them right in the middle of the league and not at a high rate, looking for players they are interested in or who have shown interest in playing in the Big Apple. Having this much cap space does make it more difficult for Big Blue to sign top-tier players. They have no choice but to look into players' lower prices.
New York has also spent time restructuring contracts during this offseason. They have made moves, such as releasing players like Bobby Okereke, to free up cap space and try to bring in more players. The Giants want to have more than they can work with this coming season. The Giants need to have that flexibility in time for the draft so they know who they can pick up.
