Are the Odds Evened for the Bears Matchup Against the Ravens?

NFL

The Chicago Bears will take on the Baltimore Ravens tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. EST at M&T Bank Stadium. Ahead of the game, the Bears will be without their starting cornerbacks. Both corners, Kyler Gordon and Tyrique Stevenson, are officially out for Chicago. Gordon returned from injury after the bye week just two weeks ago, after missing the first four games of the season. He has now been placed on the IR, out for at least the next four games with a calf injury. Stevenson was injured last week in the game against the New Orleans Saints and will now miss this game due to a shoulder injury. Already injured since Week Two is corner Jaylon Johnson, who was already a big blow to the Bears’ defensive room. They will now have to play without three of their starting corners, but it may not be the end of the world.

The Baltimore Ravens have officially ruled quarterback Lamar Jackson out. Jackson has been out with an injury since Week Five and will now miss another game for the Ravens, who sorely need his return. For the Bears’ defense, this is a huge sigh of relief as they will not be forced to face one of the best quarterbacks in the league. Despite preparing for Jackson all week as head coach, Ben Johnson stated a few days ago, they will now take on quarterback Tyler Huntley. Both teams are now facing injury issues, but does it balance things out?

Chicago’s defense leads the NFL in takeaways with 11, and is now in position to be 5-2 with a victory over the Ravens. They will rely on corner Nahshon Wright to be able to play at the same level as their starting corners, and he will have the opportunity to do so against a backup quarterback. The Ravens are now in desperation mode, as they are staring down a 1-6 record if they are defeated. Huntley has had his fair share of starting games in the NFL and will not be someone to be taken lightly. Ultimately, this game could be an opportunity for quarterback Caleb Williams to step up after a disappointing performance last week against the Saints. Both teams will look to improve and take the victory this week despite missing key players.
