Biggest Games to Look Forward to in the Devils Upcoming Season
The 2025-2026 Devil’s season was released earlier this month, and there are several exciting games to look forward to. After an early exit in the Stanley Cup Playoffs this year, fans are eager to see the Devils hit the ice again and hopefully show some improvement. The Devils' preseason will kick off on September 21st, and the season will officially begin for them with a game on October 9th. Here are some of the biggest games to look forward to as we prepare for the 2025-2026 season.
The Devils will open their season in Charlotte, North Carolina, as they face off against the Carolina Hurricanes. This will be an exciting game to kick off with, as the Devils were eliminated from the playoffs during the first round against the Canes. The Devils faced numerous injuries at that time, so assuming they return with a healthy team, this should be an interesting matchup and a chance for the Devils to redeem themselves. On October 16th, the Devils will return to home ice as they host the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Florida Panthers. The Panthers have a lot to prove after their back-to-back Stanley Cup wins, so we should see a gritty game that night. In December, the Devils will play the Canucks for the first time in the 2025-2026 season. This means this will be another opportunity for a “Hughes Bowl”. Assuming all three brothers are healthy, this will be your first chance to catch all three Hughes brothers hit the ice in one game. Despite several seasons with the brothers all in the league, most of the matchups between the two teams have seen at least one brother injured at the time of the game.
If you miss your shot at a “Hughes Bowl” in December, get ready for January 23rd when the Devils head to Canada to face the Canucks yet again. March will be an exciting month for Devils and Rangers fans alike. Saturday, March 7th, will be the first official game between the New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils of the season. If one rivalry game a month isn’t enough for you, I have good news! There are two more in March. On the 18th and the 31st of March, the Devils will also face their rivals from across the river, so get ready to watch the two teams fight it out. The Devils will play their final regular-season game on April 14th, traveling to Boston to face the Bruins before the Stanley Cup Playoffs begin.
