Can Patchy Mix Get His First UFC Win at UFC 320?
Patchy Mix came into the UFC with an unreal amount of hype before his first fight. People thought his grappling was going to be unstoppable, but against Mario Bautista, he didn’t even try to wrestle and get the fight to the ground, and he showed how atrocious his stand-up game truly is. He has no head movement at all, and his combinations had no chance of doing any real damage. He is scheduled to take on Poland newcomer Jakub Wiklacz at UFC 320. Can Patchy Mix get his first win in the UFC and show why he was so highly touted, or will Wiklacz make a name for himself at his expense?
Before his loss against Bautista, Mix was on a seven-fight winning streak in Bellator during which he was able to become the Bellator Bantamweight Champion. He is taking on Jakub Wiklacz, who himself is on a seven-fight winning streak and was the KSW Bantamweight Champion. This is going to be a highly competitive fight between one fighter who just got his second defeat in his professional career against someone who has not lost since 2020. Both fighters are elite grapplers and should be extremely hungry to get their name in the win column. Pix is going to need to have more energy in this fight. He can’t come out flat, or he is going to fall heavily behind in this fight. Both fighters are known for their ground game, so this could end up being a stand-up battle with both grapplers cancelling each other out. If that’s the case, Pix will need to show significant improvement in his striking defense and offense. We will find out which fighter is more well-rounded, and that fighter will be the one getting his hand raised.
This is an exciting fight between two former Bantamweight Champions from different promotions. With both fighters being so grappling dominant, this will give both fighters a great chance to showcase their ground game at some point and to show that their standup game is a threat as well. You're not going to want to miss this fight and all the other action on October 4th for UFC 320. The prelims start at 6:00 p.m. EST, and the main card has a start time of 10:00 p.m. EST.
