Can Rhea Ripley Weather ‘The Storm’ Once More at Clash in Italy 2026?

WWE

At Night Two of WrestleMania 42, Rhea Ripley defeated Jade Cargill to become the new WWE Women’s Champion. With ‘Mami’ now transferring from Raw to SmackDown, a new set of challengers has emerged as they attempt to dethrone Ripley... Even though Ripley was set to face these new challengers, an old foe has re-emerged and seeks vengeance against the one who took the title from her. At Clash in Italy, Jade Cargill will get her championship rematch against ‘Mami’ and look to regain her place on the throne.

Ripley earned her opportunity to challenge for Cargill’s world title after surviving against five other female superstars inside the Elimination Chamber. Although the promos between both Ripley and Cargill fell really flat as the weeks went on, their match at WrestleMania 42 was much better than expected. After Ripley went on to win the gold, she had to leave her tag partner, Iyo Sky, behind on Raw and join the SmackDown Women’s Division at the top of the mountain. Ripley knew she would be a target everywhere she went, and that was the case following the main roster debut of Fatal Attraction. While Ripley attempted to put away her competition, while also having to settle differences with friends/foes Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair, Cargill was on her way back to settle the score with Ripley, attacking her following a match and setting her sights on the WWE Women’s Championship once again.

Cargill has made a name for herself in WWE since joining the company following her contract expiring from AEW in 2023. She won her first two WrestleMania matches, as well as captured the Women’s Tag Team titles and the 2025 Queen of the Ring tournament. She capped off an excellent 2025 by winning the WWE Women’s Championship from Tiffany Stratton. In 2026, she aligned herself with Michin and B-FAB in an effort to maintain her championship reign intact. Following her loss at WrestleMania 42, Cargill took some time off, but she always knew when she would strike back against Ripley and make her claim for a rematch for the title. Now that Cargill has received an opportunity to recapture the WWE Women’s Championship at Clash in Italy, she will look to avenge the loss she suffered against Ripley and become a two-time world champion in WWE. With Michin and B-FAB by her side, she looks to sit atop the Women’s Division once again and prove why she is in charge on SmackDown.

Cargill does have the numbers advantage on her side, but everyone knows that ‘Mami’ is always on top, and she continues to prove it every single night. However, Ripley will still have to be careful if she wants to keep the gold around her waist, as being distracted for too long could cause her title reign to end sooner than expected. Cargill cannot afford to lose to Ripley once again, as it’ll prove that in the end, she might be all talk, but Ripley is the one who stands above the rest. Whoever wins this match should expect to have more than enough competitors waiting on the other side for an opportunity to challenge for SmackDown’s top title in the Women’s Division.
