Can the Giants 26-Year-Old Safety Continue His Huge Start to the 2026 Season?

That player is safety Jevon Holland. After an up-and-down year one with the Giants last season, Holland has looked consistent through the start of this year. Through the first three weeks of the season, the 26-year-old has racked up three interceptions, one in every game the G-Men have played in thus far. One of those was a game-winning pick against the Tennessee Titans this week. It hasn't just been his coverage skills doing the work, though. Last week, Holland finished his game against the Rams with eight tackles, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery along with his interception. For a New York team that's been dealing with so many injuries, Holland's performance is something this team needs.
When Giants fans were hyping up this defense when Holland joined, it was mostly because of the healthy and revamped defensive line. While the Giants' rush attack has looked solid, their best defensive player being in the secondary has come as a surprise to most fans and coaches alike, but it's definitely nothing to complain about. Through two games, Pro Football Focus had the former Miami Dolphin ranked first overall among all safeties with a stellar 91.2 defensive grade, a number that doesn't seem to be going down so soon with his performance in Week Three. The challenge that will remain for the veteran safety will be keeping this productivity throughout the year.
As the NFL season moves forward, more teams will be keeping a close eye on Holland and scheming plays around him. The G-Men are gonna need him to stay making smart and aggressive decisions on the ball.
