Cleveland Browns Host 20-Year-Old Former Alabama All-American for a 2026 NFL Draft Visit
Former Alabama All-American tackle Kadyn Proctor visited with the Cleveland Browns for a pre-draft visit this past week. Proctor is coming off a very successful career in Tuscaloosa, in which he was selected for the AP All-American Second Team in 2025, and both the All-SEC First and Second teams in 2024 and 2025, respectively. Coming in at 352 pounds and standing at six-foot-seven, Proctor is an absolute mammoth of a blocker. He’s also very fast for his size, as he posted a 5.21 40-yard dash time. With the Browns needing a left tackle to put the finishing touches on an offensive line that saw them add Elgton Jenkins and Zion Johnson in free agency, Proctor could very well find himself wearing the orange and brown next season.
After finishing his high school career as the fifth-ranked prospect in the class of 2023, the native of Des Moines, Iowa, started his career in 2023 with great results. Proctor started in all 13 games at left tackle and was ultimately named to the SEC All-Freshman Team. The following season, the sophomore was named to the All-SEC Second Team. The offseason was tricky for him, as he ultimately left the Crimson Tide to go back home and transfer to Iowa. However, just two months after his decision, Proctor flipped his commitment and rejoined Alabama for the 2025 campaign. This decision proved to work out for both the Crimson Tide and Proctor, as he was a First Team All-American, a finalist for the Lombardi Award, and a co-receiver of the SEC’s Jacobs Blocking Trophy. Looking to head to the NFL, Proctor forwent his senior season and is now consistently graded as a first-round prospect. The latest CBS Sports mock draft has the 20-year-old going to the Detroit Lions with the 17th pick in this year's draft.
It will also be interesting to see how the Browns possibly approach adding Proctor to the roster. General manager Andrew Berry has already told reporters that the Browns are considering moving down in the draft, meaning Cleveland could draft Proctor before he falls and still bring in both a top choice and draft capital. However, according to ESPN’s Jordan Reid, Cleveland may skip the line entirely and draft Proctor at six. Reid wrote that sources familiar with the situation have spoken to Berry’s affinity with the Alabama product, and the Browns could certainly feel pressure to draft a left tackle without dropping down a few spots. With both great size and speed, Cleveland will definitely consider Proctor with either of their two first-round picks. But with needs at wide receiver, and the fact that the Browns are interested in trading down, Berry will need to figure out quickly, as the draft is just over a week away.
