‘Do Bronxs’ Signs Huge Long-Term Fight Deal with the UFC in 2026
It was just announced on Thursday, April 30th, that the current BMF champion, Charles ‘Do Bronxs’ Oliveira, has signed an eight-fight deal with the UFC. This big news comes from Oliveira’s coach, Diego Lima, in a conversation with AGFight, where he discusses the true gravity of the deal. Lima spoke about how incredible the deal was for the Brazilian fighter and that there are no plans for retirement any time soon. This announcement is great for many fans of the sport, as Oliveira is a huge fan-favorite on the roster and has been for several years. Now that the new deal is signed off, what will the 36-year-old’s future look like?
Most recently, ‘Do Bronxs’ beat Max Holloway at UFC 326 by unanimous decision to obtain the BMF belt. Even after having such a long career, Oliveira still seems to be fighting at a very high level that not many fighters can compete with. He is now the holder of the BMF title, which could mean a lot more “BMF” worthy fights coming his way. Oliveira has still expressed his interest in getting the lightweight belt back as well. The fighter previously lost his belt back in 2022 to Islam Makhachev at UFC 280, and has since been crawling back to the top to earn it back. His chances of doing so look better than ever, and now that he’s signed a long-term deal, his title dreams are very possible in the near future.
It is only a matter of time until Oliveira gets a potential lightweight title shot again, but it is still unknown how he will get there. The current lightweight champ, Ilia Topuria, will be defending his belt against Justin Gaethje in a main event at the White House card this summer, which puts Oliveira’s championship dreams on hold for now. There are also still big names in the division who have been waiting their turn, such as Arman Tsarukyan, who many fans believe to be next up for a title shot. There is also a chance that Oliveira fights Tsarukyan for the second time, with the former losing the first fight, to become the next contender for the belt. Nevertheless, there is still a lot up in the air currently, as the White House's main event needs to take place before any further discussions can be made. However, fans of Oliveira can feel at ease that they still get to see their favorite fighter competing for the next few years.
