Exciting Interconference Games for the Dallas Cowboys in 2026

NFL

With all the hype around this time of month surrounding the NFL Draft and, rightfully so, the NFL schedule release day is sneaking up around the corner on May 13th. This season, the Dallas Cowboys will take on the NFC North, the AFC South, and fellow second-place teams in their own conference. Dallas has had iconic games against the AFC in the Dak Prescott era, such as the one against the Steelers all the way back in 2016 during his rookie year, and the game against the Patriots in Gillette Stadium in 2021. That being said, with five games this season against the AFC, which matchups should fans look out for?

Baltimore Ravens

Dallas will be ‘hosting’ Baltimore this year, but with an extra twist, as the game will be played in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the first time the city will host an NFL game. The matchup brings an exciting quarterback duel between Lamar Jackson and Prescott, who have only had one career game against each other, which came back in 2024. Dallas had a late comeback that fell short in the end, which added to the excitement of the game. Two of the best offenses and some of the most storied franchises in the league going at each other in the most populated city in the Western Hemisphere are sure to have the makings of a great game. Since the dual-threat quarterback was drafted by the Cowboys in 2016, Dallas has a 1-2 record against the Ravens; granted, he missed the 2020 game due to a season-ending injury.

Jacksonville Jaguars

The AFC South champions a year ago head to Arlington for a second-ever meetup between Trevor Lawrence and Prescott. The last game between these two franchises came in 2022, and while Dallas was leading the majority of the game, a Prescott tipped ball ended up as a pick-six in overtime, giving the Jaguars the comeback win. Jacksonville and Dallas both enter 2026 with high aspirations to improve on their performances a year ago and go on a deep run in the postseason. Dallas, under Prescott's reign, has only played the Jaguars twice, splitting each game at their respective home stadiums.
