Fights the UFC Needs to Make Before the End of 2025

UFC

The UFC is heating up. After concerns from UFC fans surrounding the lack of big fights being made in 2025, UFC President Dana White announced many big fights taking place in the summer. However, even though it looks like the UFC is turning their lackluster 2025 around with fights such as Dricus Du Plessis vs. Khamzat Chimaev, and Ilia Topuria vs. Charles Oliveira, there are still many high-profile fights to be made. Here are the fights the UFC needs to make before the end of 2025.

Jon Jones Vs. Tom Aspinall

This one goes without question. UFC fans have been deprived of a Heavyweight matchup for ages. Under circumstances out of Dana White’s control, UFC Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones and UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall have not been able to sign an official contract. With uncertainty surrounding the future of Jon Jones' career, including whether he is retired, it seems we are straying further from the possibility of this fight happening as each day passes. Dana White wants the fight. Tom Aspinall desperately wants the fight. If anything is clear about a Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall mega-fight, it is that UFC fans want this fight more than any other.

Jack Della Madallena Vs. Islam Makhachev

In one of the most exciting fights of 2025, Jack Della Maddalena etched his name into the history books by winning the UFC Welterweight Championship against Belal Muhammad. When Bruce Buffer read the scorecard for the fight and Della Maddalena was announced the winner, all focus turned to the Undisputed Champion's next opponent. The number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world, Islam Makhachev, will be vacating his UFC Lightweight Championship to challenge Jack Della Madallena for his Welterweight Championship. A fight between Della Maddalena and Makhachev is the most stylistically intriguing fight the UFC could make. The Aussie champions' excellent takedown defense and elite striking will be tested against the Dagestani’s physically imposing wrestling, which we have become accustomed to over the years.

Magomed Ankalaev Vs. Jiri Prochazka

There might not be a bigger fan favorite in the UFC than Jiri Prochazka. Being a former Light Heavyweight Champion, Prochazka has certainly fought his fair share of Light Heavyweight greats. However, there isn't a better Light Heavyweight right now than the current champion, Magomed Ankalaev. Ankalaev won the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship at UFC 313 against Alex Pereira in a close decision. While the UFC might be looking to explore a rematch between Ankalaev and Pereira due to the star power of ‘Poatan’, a matchup between the Russian champion and Prochazka seems more exciting. Prochazka’s unorthodox style is something Ankalaev has not seen before and would surely produce an interesting clash of styles.
