Former Seahawks Free Agent Turns the Tide in New Environment
Before the whole coaching regime change that had happened within Seattle. Letting go of their at the time head coach, Pete Carroll, prior to his future hiring by the Raiders in Las Vegas this past January, with the hope of still having his fundamental energy carried over from Seattle. Seattle had still been having ups and downs for a while in Carroll’s last season with the team. Not that there wasn’t any room for improvement at all, just a lot of the issues did not seem to be totally resolved between seasons. One such player who was involved in that period was Devin Bush. A player that Pete Carroll himself thought could help the Seahawks’ defensive fundamentals at the time.
Bush had joined the team as Carroll had been let go as head coach. Things did not go well for him in the one-season deal that he had signed with Seattle at the time. Unnecessary roughness, as they call it, caused an injury to the Arizona Cardinals quarterback at the time, Kyler Murray. It further proved for the most part that Bush seemed to be a washed-up player already, even after just finishing up as a rookie. Which, for someone new like him, isn’t the best way to start an NFL career, obviously.
After the Seahawks, Bush had finally moved on to the Cleveland Browns. This is the third team that he has been on in his entire career so far. While the Browns are definitely not the best team in the NFL, far from it, that doesn’t mean that Bush is not allowed to try to play well on the field at all, by any means. Though judging by his stats at this point after leaving Seattle, maybe it wasn’t that he wasn’t the best fit for them. Maybe Seattle was not the best fit for how Bush handles his play style at all.
With the signs of positive growth that Bush is having, now playing for the Browns. Fans can only be able to speculate what exactly could have been better for Bush. That is, if he was able to stay with Seattle at all, not that there isn’t any hope left for him as a good player. That is, as long as Bush can improve on his skills from here on out. This free agent can go a long way toward an impressive career, as long as he can put in the work, not just for himself but for his team as well.
