How the Cowboys Quarterback Has Dominated the NFC East
Dak Prescott and the Cowboys are preparing to face the Philadelphia Eagles in what is Fox’s America’s Game of the Week in Arlington. This matchup is the most significant of the season so far, as Dallas finds itself in an urgent win-now mode, needing to take almost every remaining game to have any chance of making the postseason. Before the Cowboys can begin any sort of run, they must first get through their longtime division rivals. Even with the Eagles’ talent, Prescott’s dominance against NFC East opponents speaks for itself.
Prescott is 35-9 in his career against NFC East teams, and within that record, he is 9-5 against the Eagles, who have consistently given him the toughest battles. His streak of wins against the Giants is already one of the most impressive in league history, but an even stronger stat stands above the rest. Prescott is 21-2 at home against NFC East opponents, which is the best such mark in the NFL since the merger in 1970. His last home loss to a division rival came in 2017, and coincidentally, it was against the Eagles. History leans in Prescott’s favor, but this season has made it clear that no result can be assumed ahead of time.
For the Cowboys, this Eagles team cannot be judged strictly by past meetings. Philadelphia has once again emerged as the team to beat in the NFC. Dallas must find a way to get its offense going at home against what has been one of the league’s best defenses over the past two weeks, as the Eagles held Green Bay to a 10-7 win on November 10th and limited Detroit to just 16-9 on November 16th. This restructured Dallas defense will also face its first major test against an Eagles offense that, despite dealing with internal conflicts, remains dangerous across every skill position. Ultimately, the outcome will likely come down to Prescott’s performance, whether in late-game moments when a victory is on the line or earlier stretches where Dallas has struggled to sustain momentum. Prescott and the Cowboys understand the significance of this matchup and hope he can add another win to his dominant record.
