Is ‘The Megastar’ a Main Event Player in 2026?
For the past month or so, it seems like ‘The Megastar’ LA Knight has been dealt a bad hand. Ever since he held up a fan’s sign that said “We want LA Knight, not Jey Uso,” it seems like WWE has punished Knight for his action. Then, even though it was happening during a commercial break, ‘The Megastar’ was cut off mid-interview while talking with Jackie Redmond. Next, he was a participant in The Last Time Is Now Tournament, only for him to make the finals and lose to Gunther. Recently, there have been several different reports stating what WWE thinks about the former two-time United States Champion.
First, some reports claim that even though these incidents have occurred recently, Knight will be a main event player come 2026. These past few months, ‘The Megastar’ has been so close to reaching his goal of becoming a World Champion, but has come up short on numerous occasions. If this is true of Knight being in the main event scene in 2026, WWE needs to stop punishing him if that’s continuing or even happened at all. The news of Knight actually being suspended or punished because of the sign incident has never been announced or released. However, WWE needs to let the former two-time United States Champion flourish and let Knight make his way to the top by way of his incredible mic work and great wrestling. Yes, ‘The Megastar’ holding the sign denouncing Jey was wrong, but I personally don’t believe he did this to detest Jey, yet, to show WWE it’s time to move him as a main-eventer. The fans are ready for an LA Knight World Heavyweight Championship run, and it’s time they do so, just like they did with Jey during this year.
Then, there are some outlets claiming that WWE does not believe LA Knight is a main event player. If they don’t believe in ‘The Megastar,’ it explains some of the company’s actions over the last month or so, but doesn’t give us the why or how they don’t think the former two-time United States Champion could be in the main event scene. If they didn’t believe in Knight in the first place, why give him numerous opportunities for the World Heavyweight Championship? It doesn’t make much sense for him to be punished this long, be diminished from TV, compete in this tournament, just to lose at the end, and then there be no plans for him.
On the most recent episode of Monday Night Raw, Knight was defeated by Logan Paul after the mystery attacker from Survivor Series: WarGames came out to help Paul and ‘The Vision.’ Big Bronson Reed then gave Knight multiple tsuanmi’s from the top rope, then took him backstage to beat him up some more. Paul assisted Reed by putting ‘The Megastar’ on top of a truck, then Bronson gave Knight a devastating tsuanmi on top of the truck, leaving the episode off with Raw general manager Adam Pearce screaming for a medic. Does this attack write Knight off TV for a couple of weeks to suspend him, or does this create a bigger narrative and storyline involving ‘The Megastar’ and ‘The Vision’?
