Is WWE Setting up Another Bloodline WarGames Match for 2026?
WarGames is one of the most interesting matches in professional wrestling, pitting two teams against each other in a cage that surrounds two rings. Ever since WWE brought it back on NXT, it has produced some amazing and unforgettable matches. When WWE decided to bring the match concept to the main roster, it couldn’t have imagined that one of the groups most synonymous with it would be The Bloodline. Since 2022, the faction has been involved in three out of the four WarGames matches. This year seems to be no different, as WWE has once again brought back The Bloodline on Raw, with former Bloodline members on SmackDown inserting themselves into the storyline. With chaos ensuing, is WWE about to book this year’s WarGames match specifically around The Bloodline once again?
Even though The Usos were more than content to stay away from anything Bloodline-related, their relationship with ‘The OTC’ Roman Reigns could only keep them away for a small period of time. It was clear that the twin brothers still had respect for Reigns despite the way he treated them during the peak of The Bloodline. They might not have wanted to side with Reigns, but CM Punk’s disrespect towards their family legacy certainly made them step up alongside their cousin. The Usos were getting tired of CM Punk’s comments about their family, and even went as far as becoming mouthpieces for Reigns whenever he wasn’t available. Even though they might not have interfered during Reigns’ victory over Punk at WrestleMania 42, they were definitely by his side the next side to celebrate him and acknowledge him once again as the ‘Tribal Chief’. The Bloodline was reformed, and it would only get stronger with the addition of ‘The Samoan Werewolf’ Jacob Fatu, who stepped up to the ‘OTC’ and challenged him for the World Heavyweight Championship.
After failing to capture the world title on two separate occasions, Fatu was forced to join the Bloodline and acknowledge Reigns as his ‘Tribal Chief’. The World Heavyweight Champion had now made his group much stronger, but he wasn’t done there, as he noticed that on SmackDown, there was another Bloodline member that he wanted to get in line. After separating from the Bloodline, Solo Sikoa formed a new faction called the MFTs, creating his own family that wouldn’t stand behind Reigns. After losing to ‘The OTC’ on the first Raw on Netflix and giving up the Ula Fala, Sikoa stayed away from any Bloodline business and continued with his group on SmackDown. The MFTs have certainly faced many changes, with multiple releases causing the faction to shrink in size. The leader of MFT still has Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga by his side, but he knows that ‘The OTC’ is keeping a close eye on him. Despite sending Fatu over to SmackDown to recruit Sikoa to the Bloodline, Sikoa refused and has even taken matters into his own hands to mess with The Bloodline, going over to Raw and costing Jimmy Uso a match on Raw against LA Knight. It’s clear that the World Heavyweight Champion is going to have to do a lot more to force his former enforcer to fall in line with him.
The first WarGames involving The Bloodline was in 2022, when Sikoa was still involved with the group. They picked up the victory after Sami Zayn fully sided with the group and put a temporary stop to his friendship with Kevin Owens. The Bloodline would once again get involved in WarGames in 2024, with Sikoa leading the way for his team against Reigns’ team, which included an interesting partnership with Punk. Reign’s team would pick up the victory that night. In last year’s WarGames match, the Usos and Reigns would team with Punk and Cody Rhodes against a plethora of Paul Heyman guys. The Bloodline members were unsuccessful in this match.
Even though Sikoa seems outnumbered at the moment, there is no doubt that he will recruit whoever he can to ensure that Reigns does not return to a dominating position on the roster. ‘The OTC’ wants to return to how things were when he dominated the WWE as the Head of the Table. Although WarGames is many months away, there will certainly be a plan to have Reigns and Sikoa feud over the next few months until they encounter each other inside the cage. Whether WWE can provide interesting storytelling to prevent both groups from becoming stale over the next few months is another story.
