Knicks Look to Win Their Fourth Consecutive Game at MSG
Back on Sunday, the New York Knicks ended their three-game losing streak after cruising by the undefeated Chicago Bulls at MSG. Both on Monday and Wednesday, New York got the job done against the Washington Wizards and the Minnesota Timberwolves, pushing the Knicks’ home win streak and current win streak to three games. On Sunday, the Knicks will meet up with their cross-town rivals, the Brooklyn Nets, for the first time this season. The 1-7 Nets have a tough task ahead of them if they hope to end the Knicks’ win streak at home in MSG.
During Wednesday’s win over the T-Wolves, the Knicks arguably had their best game of the season. They shot the ball lights out, going 54 percent from the field and 45 percent from beyond the arc. Also, New York grabbed 50 rebounds. While they had 14 turnovers on the night, they scored 61 points in the paint and had plenty of help from the guys on the bench, who contributed in those key moments. Mitchell Robinson looked like an offensive rebounding machine. Stars such as Jalen Brunson and OG Anunoby are shaping their season to perhaps be their best yet, with both looking to make the 2026 NBA All-Star Game. The Knicks must have Robinson as well as Karl-Anthony Towns on top of the boards if they look to overcome the struggling Nets. Brunson, Anunoby, and Mikal Bridges must get the offense going. At the same time, players like Josh Hart and Miles McBride need to continue stepping up the bench play that the Knicks have desperately needed over their last few successful seasons.
Brooklyn finally took their first win of the season on Wednesday night against the Indiana Pacers. Yet, that win comes at a cost as the Nets could be without Cam Thomas, who suffered a hamstring injury early on in the game. If the Nets are to be without their best offensive player in a matchup where a high-powered offense could dethrone the Knicks’ win streak, Brooklyn must rely on Michael Porter Jr., who recorded 32 points in the win over the Pacers. Nic Claxton also needs to be on his A-game. A 20-10 game for Claxton could be huge for this Nets team, especially for the team’s confidence. The young guys must show out in order for this Nets team to pull off any major upset against a championship-caliber Knicks team.
