Lakers Star Ready to Dominate the Upcoming Season
The Los Angeles Lakers are preparing for an important season. One of the main reasons the 2025-26 season is essential is that it will determine the future of one of the greatest players of all time, LeBron James. The big question is whether or not King James should retire following the end of the season. All of these questions depend on his teammate, who has taken an approach this offseason that nobody saw coming.
Lakers star Luka Dončić had an amazing first year with the Lakers after the midseason trade for Anthony Davis. The young scoring guard from Slovenia demonstrated his ability to put the ball in the basket and set up his teammates for easy baskets. As we all know, Dončić has always struggled on the defensive end, and the main reason for that was that he was out of shape. However, throughout the offseason, he has slimmed down his weight and is playing with the same explosiveness he had before he was drafted, when he was playing with Real Madrid.
Dončić has been adhering to a gluten-free and low-sugar diet throughout the offseason, while maintaining a daily protein intake of 250 grams and consuming one almond milk-fueled shake per day. According to reports, Luka has lost 25-30 lbs since he was knocked out of the playoffs in the first round. He was listed at 230 lbs last season, meaning he is around the mid-200’s range. As the EuroBasket 2025 is about to begin, Dončić is ready to showcase his new physique, having lost fat and gained muscle.
The Lakers open their season against the Golden State Warriors on October 21st. Lakers fans should mark that date on their calendars as the day Dončić proves all the doubters wrong. With the new-look Lakers, it will be exciting to see all the old returnees and new players play together to make a run for the Larry O’Brien Trophy. Lakers fans should be excited to see Luka Dončić suit up in the upcoming season, as he has heard the critics and put in the necessary work to dominate for the Lakers in the hope of reaching their 18th championship.
