New York Jets Week Seven 2026 Mock Draft
The New York Jets are the only winless team through six games. Despite reports all offseason, the culture feels exactly the same. Every single part of the roster is a mess, and the team has just about nothing they can hang their hat on nearly three weeks from the trade deadline. What does all of this mean? It means it’s time for a very familiar sight for Jets fans: a mock draft! Usually this mock draft would be three rounds, but the Jets’ third round pick belongs to the Eagles this year because of the Hasson Reddick trade a little over a year ago. The Jets are rumored to be sellers at the deadline, which at 0-6 seems to be almost a guarantee, but for the purpose of this mock draft, there will not be any trades and it will only feature the Jets’ picks at this point in time.
Round One, Pick One: Fernando Mendoza, QB, Indiana
Fernando Mendoza has been one of the most notable risers in this entire draft class. The former three-star has been outstanding to start the college football season. Mendoza is in the midst of a special season for the Indiana Hoosiers, as they are coming off a win against a top 10 team in the country in Oregon, and are undefeated on the year thus far. Mendoza himself has been a big part of why the team is doing so well. Though he isn’t oozing with physical talent like some other prospects, he is by no means a poor athlete. Listed at 6’5, 225 lbs, Mendoza has ideal measurables for an NFL quarterback, and at 22 years old, he’s still maturing physically. On top of that, he’s a quick processor with a pretty good arm and a quick release, something that would be a welcome change for the Jets, as the main issue Justin Fields has had this year has been processing and time to throw.
Round Two, Pick 33: Chris Brazzell II, WR, Tennessee
The Jets come back in round two and grab one of the best receivers still on the board in Tennessee’s Chris Brazzell. Anyone who has watched this team knows how desperately the Jets need help at the receiver position, and anyone who hasn’t will realize after this week with Garrett Wilson missing time. Brazzell is 6’5, 200 lbs, an explosive runner, and has good hands. Some people will write him off because he operates in the Tennessee offense, but they should watch the player and not the helmet. Brazzell has legitimate pro potential and would be an excellent compliment to Garrett Wilson.
