Playoff Powerhouses for the Dallas Stars
The Dallas Stars are taking on the Western Conference Finals for the third season in a row. During their series against the Winnipeg Jets and the Colorado Avalanche, several players have brought attention to themselves in the best way possible. Now, after winning their first game against the Edmonton Oilers, the Stars are proving that they’re not done just yet. Despite injuries across the team, the Stars are still bringing the heat during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. These players have made their mark on this year's playoffs and continue to impress fans worldwide.
Mikko Rantanen
Anybody who has paid any attention to this year’s Stanley Cup Playoffs has heard the name Mikko Rantanen. Rantanen has had two back-to-back hat tricks, one against his former team, the Colorado Avalanche, who traded him earlier this season. Rantanen currently leads in terms of playoff goals and points with nine goals and 19 points. While Rantanen had a sort of slow start to the playoffs, it’s safe to say he is back in full swing.
Wyatt Johnston
Wyatt Johnston has been a staple of the team since he first hit the ice with the Stars in 2022. During the first two rounds of the playoffs, Johnston put up four goals and eight points. Johnston continues to prove himself both on and off the ice. Stars head coach Peter DeBoer stated earlier in the playoffs that he was impressed by Johnston’s leadership skills and has no doubt that he will earn a spot as captain during his time with the Stars. In just three seasons in the NHL, Johnston continues to prove that he deserves to be here, and it’s only up from here.
Mikael Granlund
Another hat trick for the Stars came from Mikael Granlund. Granlund has been a big part of the Stars' performance in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. He has five goals and nine points to his name in the first 14 games of the playoffs. With Granlund on the ice, the Stars have a real shot at making it to the finals.
Thomas Harley
Thomas Harley has played a big part in some key wins for the Stars. During the sixth game of their series against the Winnipeg Jets, Harley scored in overtime, securing a spot in the Western Conference Finals for the Stars. Harley has earned a total of 11 points throughout the playoffs so far, four of those being goals. As the finals grow closer and the fire starts to kick up, keep an eye out for Harley and his scoring ability.
Miro Heiskanen
Despite missing several games due to an injury, Miro Heiskanen is back and is already racking up points for the Stars. While Heiskanen has only played four games since returning to the ice, he has earned a total of four points, one of which was a goal. Heiskanen admits that he is not back to his 100% self yet, so if this is only the start for him, it’ll be interesting to see where he goes from here as he continues to heal. Four points in four games is an impressive stat for a guy who had missed over three months of play, so stay tuned to see what else he brings to the table.
There are so many amazing players on the Dallas Stars who have contributed to them making it this far in the playoffs. So many players have shown that they deserve their place in the NHL, and they are hungry for the Stanley Cup. With many players returning from injury and several players stepping up when needed, will this be the year the Stars take home the Stanley Cup? Keep an eye out as the Stars vs. Oilers series continues.
