Potential Trade Destinations for the Seahawks Star Corner
Through four games, the Seahawks' defense has looked like one of the best units in the NFL. After a shaky Week One, they bounced back in a major way, putting up dominant performances in Weeks Two and Three. The secondary is locking down receivers in a way not seen in Seattle since the Legion of Boom era, thanks to the play of Devon Witherspoon, Josh Jobe, and Derion Kendrick. While the rest of the secondary has been playing at a high level, Riq Woolen has struggled in 2025, with PFF grading him as the 151st-best cornerback in the league.
In his first year in the league, Woolen burst onto the scene with six interceptions, earning himself a Pro Bowl nod. His play was good enough that many considered him the best cornerback in his class over Sauce Gardner. Since his rookie season, Woolen has experienced a steady decline. Now, in the final year of his contract, the Seahawks may look to move on. NFL Insider Ian Rappoport reported Sunday that several teams are monitoring Woolen as a trade target by the deadline.
One potential destination could be the Las Vegas Raiders, who have what many consider to be the worst CB room in the league. The position group is led by Eric Stokes, who signed with Las Vegas in the offseason after starting 32 games over four years in Green Bay. Stokes injured his knee in the Raiders’ Week Four game against the Bears. Depending on the severity of the injury, Vegas could look to make a splash and acquire a new CB1.
The Miami Dolphins are another team that could potentially be in the mix. In the offseason, Miami cut Kendall Fuller and traded Jalen Ramsey to Pittsburgh, leaving their cornerback room depleted. Storm Duck started the season as the second cornerback on the depth chart, but injured his ankle in the season opener and has yet to return. Adding Woolen could strengthen the secondary and give Miami a true star CB.
Injuries have plagued the Chicago Bears' secondary in 2025, so a trade for Woolen could really benefit them. CB1 Jaylon Johnson was placed on injured reserve ahead of Week Four, ensuring he will miss at least four games. Starting CB Kyler Gordon will also likely be sidelined for several more weeks as he recovers from a hamstring injury. A trade for Woolen now could bolster the secondary and help the Bears stay afloat till the defense is healthy.
