Predictions for Major Winners in 2026
The year 2025 saw the triumphs of Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler as Rory finally claimed his career Grand Slam and Scottie claimed his first Open Championship, as Scheffler’s quest for his Grand Slam is now closer for next year. The offseason offers speculation about the future of the best golfers and the new stars of the game. The year 2026 offers hope and potential for history in the making for miracles and a mark of dominance as the world’s best compete on the grandest stages. Who will stand out on top? Here are some predictions.
The Masters (April 9th-12th, 2026): Justin Thomas
Yes, Justin Thomas did not have the best performance in this year's majors as he got cut twice in the PGA Championship and the US Open at Oakmont. The best way to get back on track is to win his first green jacket and build his year for 2026 to be a bright one. This year, he was getting back on track, as he missed the cut at Augusta for the previous two years. Justin is no stranger to winning majors, and the green jacket will look wonderful as Rory will have the honor of putting on Justin Thomas’s first green jacket.
PGA at Aronimink Golf Club (May 14th-17th, 2026): Keegan Bradley
Keegan Bradley, the current American captain of this year’s Ryder Cup, was the last PGA Tour winner at Aronimink Golf Club in when he won the 2018 BMW Championship through a playoff against Justin Rose. Aronimink will be the site of next year’s PGA Championship, and Bradley has a chance where he won his debut for the PGA Championship in 2011, winning the three-hole playoff against Jason Dufner. This can be a full-circle moment for Bradley, as he was the previous winner of a PGA event at Aronimink and claims his second major for his reward through his recent performance this year. The addition of being named captain for Team USA for the Ryder Cup will only add more fans to root for Bradley.
U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club (June 18th-21st, 2026): Scottie Scheffler
Everyone, this is Scottie Scheffler. The man who is the closest resemblance to Tiger Woods, who dominated this year’s PGA Championship and this year’s Open Championship at Royal Portrush Golf Club. The Open is the last stop to complete the career Grand Slam, which he will undoubtedly achieve this career feat, whether in 2026 or in the future. It would be shocking if he doesn’t win the U.S Open for his talent, where his legacy might be the more gifted Phil Mickelson.
The Open at Royal Birkdale Golf Club (July 12th – 19th, 2026): Tommy Fleetwood
Why not Tommy Fleetwood? For his reward for winning the Tour Championship, he may earn his first major in his native home country of England. He is the most consistent for the Open Championships as he has the most top-10 finishes for his career. The future is bright for Tommy as he enters the new year of 2026.
