Taking A Look at the 2025 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Roster
The USA Baseball Collegiate National team roster was released earlier this week. 30 Division One athletes were selected to represent their country. Next week, these athletes will go head-to-head with Japan’s Collegiate National team in a championship series. Let’s take a look at some of the key players on the roster for the 45th USA vs. Japan Collegiate All-Star Championship, which will begin on June 9th.
Pitching Staff
UNC’s Jason DeCaro, Arkansas’ Cole Gibler, ECU’s Ethan Norby, and Oregon State’s Dax Whitney are among the key members of this year’s pitching staff. DeCaro played with Team USA last season as well, pitching three innings and striking out three batters in his start last June. This is Gibler’s first summer on Team USA, but he excelled during his freshman season at Arkansas with a 6-2 record. Norby, ECU’s ace, is also in his first appearance with Team USA. Norby recorded 119 strikeouts in a total of 90 innings pitched this season. Whitney, another Team USA rookie, made 17 starts for Oregon State in the 2025 season and finished with a 6-3 record and a 3.40 ERA.
Outfielders
The ACC produced most of this season’s Team USA outfielders. Drew Burress from Georgia Tech has made his third roster appearance; his first was back in 2019 on the 15U National Team. AJ Gracia from Virginia started all four games in last year’s summer league in right field, finishing the summer with a batting average of .300. Lucas Moore from Louisville will make his first appearance with the National Team this summer. During training camp, Moore was seven for 15 at the plate.
Infielders & Catchers
Arkansas catcher Ryder Helfrick has become very familiar with Team USA. Helfrick will make his first Collegiate National Team appearance, but has attended multiple training camps with USA Baseball since 2019. UCLA’s Roch Cholowsky had one of the most decorated seasons in program history, including being the sixth non-draft eligible athlete to be honored as Baseball America’s Player of the Year. He also led UCLA in batting average with a .353. Auburn’s Chris Rembert had an impressive freshman season, recording 72 hits and 10 home runs in his 209 at-bats. Team USA has a young but strong team of infielders leading them in this upcoming series.
