‘The Last Stylebender’ Eyes ‘Bodybagz’ in Seattle at UFC Fight Night
‘The Last Stylebender’ aka Israel Adesanya, will face his upcoming opponent Joe Pyfer, who is known as ‘Bodybagz’, in a title card fight at UFC Fight Night! For a Men’s Middleweight Division title fight, this will be great to behold as ‘‘The Last Stylebender’ is the older fighter between the two, and ‘Bodybagz’ will not be looking to go easy as a result. Adesanya is currently 37 years old, while Pyfer is 30. The 37-year-old fighter even has a record of 24-5-0 while the younger 30-year-old fighter is sitting at 15-3-0. In their respective fight careers, only ‘The Last Stylebender’ has fought title shots against Middleweight Division champions like Sean Strickland.
Adesanya has cultivated a great career in the UFC, which began in 2018. He has since displayed a style that reflects a preference for knocking out his opponents. ‘The Last Stylebender’ has secured a submission to his victories, which allows for some variability. Also, he is used to defending takedowns from those he faces in the octagon and will make it hard for the young 30-year-old opponent to find a hole in his ground game. Adesanya will undoubtedly strike fast, and as a consequence, he may even land more strikes during this matchup. However, the 37-year-old will have to be careful as he does so, as it presents the opportunity to receive a strike in return.
Pyfer will look to return the blows as well because notching a win in this fight would be huge to move him up in the Men’s Middleweight Division. He could look to his defence if ‘The Last Stylebender’ makes an errant takedown attempt. This would create a hole in the fight for a devastating strike from ‘Bodybagz’, but it is doubtful, considering the tendency for the 37-year-old fighter to keep his fights standing. Pyfer could consider utilizing a takedown attempt himself, in that it would throw Adesanya’s momentum mid-fight. If the 30-year-old capitalizes on that moment, he could even secure a submission for the win!
Ultimately, ‘The Last Stylebender’ is predicted to win by decision. It is understandable to believe this because of his past experiences. He has gone the distance against titans, and most of his wins were secured by decision or knockout. The 37-year-old could face an upset like the one Strickland created when he defeated Adesanya. This upset could take the form of a submission by ‘Bodybagz’, with the most extreme version coming if the 30-year-old fighter lands more strikes than ‘The Last Stylebender’. The latter of this happening would be quite a spectacle, too.
It is with certainty that ‘The Last Stylebender’ will win the fight because he is used to the developing fighter that ‘Bodybagz’ is molding into. Basically, Pyfer is starting his fighting career with a majority of knockout wins, like Adesanya back in 2018. The 37-year-old fighter knows he will be getting an aggressive fight and will look to keep it standing to make his reach work to his advantage. If the 30-year-old-young fighter makes a submission move towards him, he’ll likely see it coming from a mile away. The best part is that to know how the fight will end truly, one will need to tune in at 8:00 p.m. EDT on Paramount+ or see it in person in Seattle at the Climate Pledge Arena!
