‘The Nomad’ vs. Lil Yachty: Who Wins at SNME 2026?
During the August 21st episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Trick Williams, alongside Lil Yachty, felt the aura of the crowd screaming “Whoop That Trick” to the trumpets and bass of Williams’ entrance music. Both men walked to the ring with the former United States Champion calling out the current champ, ‘The Nomad’ Baron Corbin, for another championship opportunity. Corbin rode down a red motorcycle to the ring and told Williams he doesn’t deserve another chance at his title. ‘The Nomad’ also mentioned that he’s the United States Championship fixed and back to its original design after ‘Mr. Lemon Pepper Stepper’ wrapped the title in fur. Instead of giving Williams another chance, Corbin challenged Lil Yachty to step into the ring with him for five minutes at Sunday Night’s Main Event. If Yachty can outlast the five minutes, ‘Mr. Whoop Dat’ will receive another United States Championship opportunity in the future; however, if ‘The Nomad’ wins, Williams cannot challenge for the title anymore.
Ever since he returned to WWE on July 10th, Corbin has done everything he set out to do. He shook up the Mid-card Division, took the United States Championship at SummerSlam, and even defeated the likes of Carmelo Hayes in a championship match on the August 14th edition of SmackDown. On the 21st, ‘The Nomad' gave himself a win-lose situation, which, if he wins, means that’s one less challenger he’ll have to worry about; yet if Corbin loses to a rapper who’s making his in-ring debut, a motivated Williams will certainly have the advantage to eventually become a two-time United States Champion. Corbin must find a way to destroy his opponent quickly within the five-minute timeframe.
Yachty is making his in-ring debut after months of being alongside Williams as his manager, friend, and confidante. ‘Lil Boat’ has found himself in ‘Mr. Lemon Pepper Stepper’ matches before, but not to the extent where he’ll need to outlast someone for five minutes. We’ve seen the Grammy-nominated rapper take bumps, use kendo sticks, and fall through tables since March. In his first match, he’ll need to use his wits and speed against a big man like Corbin to survive the full five minutes of this match.
Corbin will need to take out Yachty quickly if he wants to get the job done. That means a Deep Six and an End Of Days within the first minute to call it a day. However, if ‘Lil Boat’ has Williams ringside, he’ll have an advantage, and that means an extra body ‘The Nomad’ has to deal with. Yachty needs to use his speed, chop Corbin down to size, and not get hit by any of ‘The Nomad’s’ devastating moves.
Unless WWE wants to destroy the momentum Williams has had thus far, it seems pretty obvious that Yachty will outlast the five minutes. Which then begs the question: if Corbin is having a rapper go over on him, what does that do to 'The Nomad’s’ stock? If Yachty does not survive the full five minutes of this match, this pushes ‘Mr. Whoop Dat’ direction in two possible directions. Either trying to qualify for Money in the Bank and become the next winner of the briefcase to have a chance to win a World Championship, or cutting ties with ‘Lil Boat’ and having a match with the Grammy-nominated rapper.
