The Possibilities of Drafting This Elite Fantasy Duo

NFL

As the weeks leading up to fantasy football continue, there is still plenty to think about. Every department of each fantasy football manager's team needs to find a way to be strong so that they can come out on top at the end of the season. Many areas that are looked into are both the quarterback room on fantasy rosters and what is going on with the defensive line. This year, one of the bigger areas to look at for fantasy football is the offensive weapons and who can be added to easily stack each manager's team.

There is one dynamic duo that is believed to be powerful and really bring the numbers in for teams from week to week this coming season. Drafting both Super Bowl champion Saquon Barkley and New York Giants rookie breakout wide receiver Malik Nabers. Both have had pretty powerful and record-breaking seasons for the last few years. By adding this duo to any fantasy roster, this seems to be the way to go this season.

Nabers has been a huge core in the fantasy football world since his breakout year last season. He played in 15 games with 13 starts, had 109 catches for 170 targets, and raced 1,204 receiving yards, ranking him seventh among all wide receivers in the league. In the process of all of this, Nabers also broke records for the Giants, marking a huge season for him as a rookie. This wide receiver was one of the bigger weapons that the Giants used to try and make things happen last season.

Nabers is projected to be a big get. This is why he’s the first half of this duo when it comes to drafting in the fantasy this year. He’s a projected target hog because of how well he did last season. Nabers has been a target since day one for all quarterbacks who have been put in to start for the Giants. He has also been an explosive playmaker and has proven that he can score anywhere on the field, making him a great redraft or someone fantastic to add for a first-time-around manager. He’s a mid-round steal for anyone who chooses to draft him.

Barkley, being the other half of this fantasy football duo, is what is going to make the playoffs more receptacle for fantasy managers. Since he joined the Philadelphia Eagles last season, the veteran running back has been playing with one of the biggest offensive lines in the league. Barkley may have played a solid game with the Giants when he was with them. However, it was mostly him doing a lot of the work while half of the offensive line was out on injury.

Now that he is with the Eagles, it has become easier for him with the team working together. Last season, this Super Bowl champion started in all 16 games, had 345 rushing attempts, and had the most rushing yards in the NFL with 2,005 rushing yards. Setting a franchise record. Barkley raised the bar higher for him to be a top-tier draft pick for fantasy managers.

Barkley would be a smash hit if he were drafted to any fantasy football manager's team. He is heavily involved in the passing game and gets high-value touches when needed. Barkley was very much a red-zone monster last season. Several of his touchdowns were scored, and he had consistent red-zone usage. Barkley is a huge asset to add to any fantasy roster. If his season last year was big, this year maybe even better for him, provided he does not begin to slide downward in his stats.

Drafting both of these players would put together a high-quality team. They are both walking into this coming season with high expectations. They are both monsters and superstars on the field but give great plays that will get fantasy managers the wins that they need. If one gets drafted but not the other, there are still other major players that could be picked up, such as CeeDee Lamb or even Bijan Robinson. However, together, these two may be the draft combo that gives fantasy managers exactly what they need.
