Three Players in the 2027 NFL Draft Class That Would Be Perfect for the Cleveland Browns
Unfortunately, this will not be the last time the Cleveland Browns will be speculating on who to draft a year from now. As is the case seemingly every year, the Browns will not be contenders for the upcoming season, and after winning just eight games across the last two seasons, it seems to be the only route. Just like any team, there’s a ceiling and a floor, and if Shedeur Sanders continues to turn heads with his play, then Cleveland may be able to continue on a two-win trajectory. For now, it’s pretty realistic to pigeonhole them in a three- to six-win range, and here’s who the Browns could draft in the 2027 NFL Draft, a draft that has already been hyped up as league-changing.
Dylan Stewart - Defensive Lineman, South Carolina
Although Jared Verse was brought back to his home state of Ohio in the Myles Garrett trade, a team could never have enough edge rushing ability. Especially with the loss of a player like Garrett, sometimes you need two different guys to make up the loss. In two seasons with the South Carolina Gamecocks, Dylan Stewart has wreaked havoc on opposing offensive linemen. The junior has racked up 11 sacks, six forced fumbles, and 56 combined tackles since 2024. Standing at six-foot-five and 250 pounds, this guy is going to be an absolute star this season, and watch out for general manager Andrew Berry to pair Stewart with Verse in 2027 potentially.
Austin Siereveld - Offensive Guard, Ohio State
Cleveland could aim to nab Austin Siereveld with the second of their two first-round picks in this class, which they acquired in the Garrett trade. Although Berry added to the offensive line this offseason by drafting Spencer Fano and adding a trio of players through trades and free agency, it’s possible a signing like Zion Johnson ends up failing this season. If that comes to fruition, keeping the Ohio State Buckeye captain in his home state would be a perfect homecoming, as well as a solution to a struggling offensive line. The 325-pound beast of a man has already been the recipient of several awards and could be a Pro Bowl-caliber lineman for years to come.
Dante Moore - Quarterback, Oregon
If Sanders doesn’t work out, then the decades-long search for Cleveland’s leading signal-caller will continue into 2027. This sets up a scenario in which the Browns will finish with yet another poor record, placing them within the top three picks in the draft. Should Cleveland either fall to the third or fourth pick, Oregon’s Dante Moore would be a no-brainer. Leading the Ducks to a College Football Playoff win earlier this year, the Detroit native has already established a reputation for himself and can only bolster it with a Fernando Mendoza-style campaign this fall.
