Three Remaining 2026 Free Agents the Cleveland Browns Should Sign Immediately

NFL

The marquee names are off the board, but there are still plenty of players left in the 2026 NFL Free Agency cycle that teams could make a difference next fall. The Cleveland Browns have already done a solid job of adding to their needs, especially adding on the offensive line with the acquisitions of Elgton Jenkins and Zion Johnson. However, general manager Andrew Berry should still look to add targets in the passing game, secondary help, and the Browns still need someone to man the left tackle position. With a little over $21 million left in cap space, here are three available free agent targets that would fit perfectly with Cleveland in their pursuit of the 2026 NFL Playoffs.

Rasul Douglas: Cornerback, Miami Dolphins

The Browns have plenty of questions in the secondary, outside of their ideal star cornerback Denzel Ward. Early in the season, Cleveland parted ways with former first-round draft pick Greg Newsome II in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars and received another cornerback in return in the form of Tyson Campbell. Campbell performed decently in 12 games with Cleveland, but the Browns' secondary remains barren outside of the two veterans. The signing of Rasul Douglas, who’s been in the league since 2017, provides an instant and capable starter on a team that performed at a very good clip last season, allowing just 161.6 passing yards per game. Douglas spent 2025 with the Miami Dolphins, recording two interceptions and 62 tackles across 13 games last season. The former West Virginia Mountaineer is 30 years old, but if he can stay healthy and produce for the Browns, then Cleveland should look to add Douglass before someone else does.

Deebo Samuel: Wide Receiver, Washington Commanders

In terms of available free-agent wide receivers, Deebo Samuel is one of several big names that are still up for grabs on the open market. However, Samuel’s production has slightly lagged behind the likes of Stefon Diggs and Tyreek Hill, at least when those two are healthy. Diggs and Hill are likely off to teams that are primed to contend now, instead of a team like Cleveland that is still in the midst of a rebuild. With Samuel, the Browns would be getting a seven-year veteran who just spent 2025 with the Washington Commanders, another team that missed out on the postseason last year. Hauling in 727 receiving yards and five touchdowns, the 30-year-old still has some gas left in the tank and instantly would be Cleveland’s second-best receiver heading into the draft. Coupled with the fact that he’s a fan-favorite and a hard-working veteran that young quarterbacks like Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel can rely on, ‘Sweet Feet’ Samuel could fit nicely on Cleveland’s roster.

Taylor Decker: Left Tackle, Detroit Lions

A former Ohio State Buckeye and a native of Vandalia, Ohio, Taylor Decker would be the perfect finishing touch to an already promising offensive line that Berry has assembled in free agency. Decker has spent his entire 10-year career with the Detroit Lions, which shows he’d fit like a glove on another Lake Erie franchise in Cleveland. A 2024 Pro Bowler, Decker is the ultimate definition of availability, as he’s started every game of his career that he’s been healthy for. This potential signing also gives the Browns wiggle room to add on to other positions in the draft, such as receiver and secondary, due to the line being completely fortified after adding Decker. Of all the players on this list, Decker stands out as the no-brainer; not only would fans love to bring back an Ohioan, but they would also love to see Berry bring pass protection for whoever starts Week One at quarterback.
