Vancouver Canucks Who Will Represent in Milan in 2026

NHL

The 2026 Winter Olympics will take place in Milan, and countries are starting to announce which stars will be named to their rosters. As for ice hockey, there are plenty of members of the NHL who are likely to be selected to represent their country. With the first six players being named to each team already, and the US Olympic Orientation Roster being released, it’s time to take a look at who should be offered a spot on their country’s team. After a tough season for the Canucks, let’s see which players have a shot at representing their home country next year.

Right off the bat, two Canucks have already been named to Olympic preliminary rosters for their respective countries. Captain Quinn Hughes was one of the first six players named to the Team USA roster earlier this summer. Additionally, Teddy Blueger has been named to Team Latvia. Though these are the only two officially named to a roster, we will likely see a few others hit the ice to represent their country in February.

Conor Garland was named to the Olympic Orientation Roster for Team USA’s hockey team. While this doesn’t guarantee him a spot, it’s a good sign that he is being considered a contender for a place in the Olympics. Garland has been selected to represent the USA for many other tournaments in the past, so it’s more than likely that he is named to the roster for the Winter Olympics. Both Filip Chytil and Filip Hronek are on the radar for Team Czechia. The two players are both strong contenders to be named to the Olympic roster to fight for a medal for their country.

Finally, despite a rough season, Elias Pettersson will likely be invited to play for Team Sweden. Historically, Pettersson has represented his country in tournaments such as the Four Nations Face-off earlier this year. While the 2025-2026 season was less than optimal for Pettersson, he is still a valuable asset to Team Sweden. I think it’s incredibly reasonable to believe we will see him compete in Milan next year. Most of this is speculation based on previous rosters and performances, so we will have to wait for more information to come out to confirm any rosters. However, if you keep up with the Vancouver Canucks, expect to see some familiar names on the Olympic rosters.
