Three Crazy Stats from the 2025 New York Jets Season
There is not a single person who is an NFL fan who will look at the New York Jets’ 2025 season and tell you it was anything better than a complete and utter disaster. The team looked absolutely awful and appeared to have straight given up down the stretch. Despite how bad the team looked, it still doesn’t seem like some people can truly grasp how bad this team was. They weren’t just one of the worst teams this season; they were one of the worst teams of all time, and the statistics back it up.
Zero Interceptions All Year
The major stat that’s been reported by nearly every media outlet is that the Jets didn’t record a single interception during the entire 2025 season. It’s the first time that this has ever happened since the interception stat first began being recorded back in 1933. What is being understated is the fact that they did it through 17 games. Many teams played 14-game seasons and still never managed to have no picks. It’s more than a bad luck stat, like many have made it out to be. It’s unthinkable, and an unmistakable sign of incompetence.
Worst December Point Differential in NFL History
The Jets were riding high going into December, coming off a nice win against the Falcons. Many fans thought that they could carry that momentum and finish strong. Instead, they collapsed and got beat worse than any team ever has in NFL history. Their -107 point differential was the worst ever, and they are also the first squad in the history of the league to ever lose five straight games by 25 or more points.
Garrett Wilson Leads the Team in Receiving
The craziest stat of them all may be that Garrett Wilson was the team’s leading receiver. Now, on the surface, that may not seem like a big deal. He’s by far the best pass-catcher on the roster, and they just paid him the big bucks to do exactly that. The issue is, Wilson hadn’t caught a pass since Week Six. He finished his season with 395 yards through seven games. It’s nearly unthinkable that not a single player passed him in the next 11 games that were played after Wilson’s injury. If this doesn’t scream that the team needs receiving help, nothing does.
