Western Conference Final Kicks off in Dallas

NHL

The Dallas Stars will host the Edmonton Oilers on May 21st for Game One of the Western Conference Finals in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The game will go live at 8:00 p.m. The Stars and Oilers previously met up for the Western Conference Finals during the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs, where the Oilers won in game six. The Stars are hoping to get revenge this time around and emerge victorious in their battle against the Oilers.

During the 2024-2025 regular season, the Stars and Oilers faced off three times. The Stars won two out of three times, the Oilers only claiming one game. Both teams are going into Game One eager and with a fire lit underneath them. Despite several challenges and injuries for both teams, it’s sure to be an interesting series.

Key players to watch for on the Oilers are Connor McDavid, who currently leads the playoffs in assists and skating speed. Leon Draisaitl, who has racked up 16 points during his run in the playoffs. Evan Bouchard, who has four goals and eight assists in the previous two rounds.  Oilers goalie Calvin Pickard has a .888 save percentage in even games played.

Stars players to look out for are Mikko Rantanen, who has 19 points to his name over the last two rounds, including two back-to-back hat tricks. Mikael Granlund, who also earned himself a hat trick in game two against the Winnipeg Jets. Thomas Harley, who is among the top skaters during the playoffs and has earned 10 points so far. Goalie Jake Oettinger has a .919 save percentage in 13 games played, among the top in the league.

The series between the Oilers and the Stars is sure to be nothing short of entertaining. These two teams are coming into Game One ready to prove themselves. The Stars are looking to get revenge for their Western Conference Finals loss against the Oilers, and the Oilers are looking to take another shot at the Stanley Cup after losing in the final round last year. The two teams are full of powerful players with great energy, so be sure to tune in as the series kicks off tomorrow night.
