What Team Should the Bulls Former 22-Year-Old Point Guard Sign with?

NBA

Many superstar players are still without a team; one of those players is Josh Giddey. Rumor has it that the Chicago Bulls have offered Giddey a four-year, $88 million contract. Giddy has supposedly turned it down because he is looking for something closer to a $100 million contract. The 22-year-old Australian had an excellent season with the Chicago Bulls last season. He averaged almost a triple-double with 15 points per game, along with eight rebounds and seven assists. If a deal doesn't come through soon, we can see Giddey move on to a title-contending team. Giddey is the truth and should at least be heading to one if anything.

One team that people should look out for in the pursuit of Giddey would be the Golden State Warriors. Teaming up with Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler on the floor would be a masterful move by the Warriors. It would relieve both Curry and Butler of the responsibility of ball handling and having to worry about being the point guard rather than scoring. Scoring should be the top priority, and Giddey plays like an old-school point guard. He looks to pass while also being very good at driving into the paint.  Not the best shooter, but that would be the least of his worries when playing with many shooters on that Warriors team.

The biggest question is how Giddey would get there and who would be traded for him since he is a restricted free agent. Jonathan Kuminga comes to mind if the Warriors and Bulls can come up with a solution on how to make that trade happen. It would solve both teams' problems, as both can find contractual solutions for their respective superstars. Making a sign and trade would prove difficult, but look for that to be the go-to option for the Warriors. That could incentivize Al Horford to sign, which would make the Warriors actual contenders if they remain healthy throughout the year. It depends on whether the trade is possible and what the Warriors give up, but it would be an excellent fit for Giddey going forward.
