What’s in the 2026 WWE Elimination Chamber Box?

WWE

On the February 16 edition of Raw, a mysterious crate was delivered to Raw General Manager Adam Pearce. Although nothing was said about what could be inside the crate, the writing outside the crate stated that the box remained closed until February 28, the date of Elimination Chamber 2026. There is a buzz on what could be inside the crate, whether it’s a possible return of a superstar or the debut of someone new. What could WWE possibly be hiding inside that crate that they have to keep a secret up until the last PLE before WrestleMania?

The crate might be containing items that belong to a certain ‘Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla.’ Chris Jericho’s contract with All Elite Wrestling was set to expire at the end of 2025, with rumors circulating that his desire was to return to WWE for one final run. Despite rumors that Jericho was set to make an appearance on the first Raw of 2026, Jericho never appeared. Bringing back Jericho for a retirement run and allowing him to get involved in storylines with young up-and-comers such as Je’Von Evans and Trick Williams is the perfect way to present him on WWE television. Obviously, WWE doesn’t expect us to believe that Jericho is physically inside that crate, but there could be items from Jericho’s past that could tease his return. Some of the items might include a Fozzy album, a list, and a light-up jacket. If WWE is successful in bringing back Jericho, then there’s no better time to have him back than on the road to WrestleMania.

Another possible reveal of what might be inside the crate is a return of a former tag team or a debuting superstar. During an interview with Inside The Ropes, The Hardy Boyz mentioned that they were going to make a couple of WWE appearances in 2026. The crate could also contain teasers that confirm that their presence is approaching, such as a TNA flag or a ladder, a weapon that The Hardy Boyz are well known for. If not one of the most prominent tag teams of all time, then the crate might actually be containing someone inside. Even though it’s not expected to believe someone could survive inside the crate until Elimination Chamber, there is one free agent that could actually survive inside the crate for that long, and that man is Danhausen. The ‘Very Nice, Very Evil’ superstar might not be the biggest, but he is certainly well-known across the wrestling world due to his comedic presence. If WWE chooses to go down a comedic route with the crate, placing Danhausen inside the crate and having him come out alive with no food or water would be the perfect payoff. Danhausen has already engaged with a few superstars on the roster during his time in AEW, such as CM Punk and possibly Jericho. There is no doubt that Danhausen will certainly fit right in with WWE.

The worst-case scenario is that the crate contains teasers of a possible Vince McMahon return. Over the past few months, WWE has slowly begun mentioning McMahon’s name, from Triple H’s Hall of Fame speech to John Cena’s retirement video package. McMahon was forced to resign from TKO in January 2024 following a lawsuit that claimed McMahon was involved in multiple acts of inappropriate behavior in WWE. Following his removal, WWE has made efforts to erase McMahon from history by not mentioning his name in any way and blurring his face from video packages. Even though the allegations against McMahon are horrendous, it wouldn’t be surprising to see TKO attempt to feed off the controversy and bring back the most controversial figure in WWE history. TKO has already brought back Brock Lesnar despite his name being mentioned in the lawsuit against WWE, so why not try to bring McMahon back for a shocking moment and cheap pop? WWE is in a much better place without McMahon, and there really isn’t a hunger from the audience to bring him back.
