After spending six years with the company, The Creed Brothers have officially departed WWE. Their departure comes as a surprise to many, as they recently returned to NXT in September 2026. They competed in the 2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, defeating Harley Riggins and Jax Presley in the first round before Hank Walker and Tank Ledger eliminated them in the next round. The former NXT Tag Team Champions seemed poised for a long, successful main roster run, but several factors kept them from reaching their true potential. Now that they are no longer with WWE, what’s next for The Creed Brothers, and could Jacksonville be their next destination?
Although Julius Creed and Brutus Creed weren’t initially signed at the same time, their partnership was in the works, as they trained together at the WWE Performance Center throughout the first few months of 2021. In August 2021, The Creed Brothers would officially make their NXT debut alongside Roderick Strong as members of Diamond Mine. Over the next few months, they played as heels, though their in-ring abilities made them fan favorites. 2022 was The Creed Brothers’ most successful year in the company, as they accomplished multiple feats. At NXT Vengeance Day 2022, The Creed Brothers defeated MSK, Wes Lee and Zachary Wentz, to win the 2022 Men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, earning a shot at the NXT Tag Team titles. Although they failed to capture the belts, their mission to win the gold wouldn’t last long, as they defeated Pretty Deadly at NXT In Your House 2022 to become the new tag team champions. They held the titles for three months before losing them back to Pretty Deadly, Kit Wilson and Elton Prince, at Worlds Collide 2022 after Diamond Mine partner Damon Kemp cost them the match, leading to their departure from the group.
The Creed Brothers, along with Ivy Nile, would make their main roster debut on Raw in October 2023 before becoming official members of the red brand the following week. They competed for the tag team titles but found no success. After a rough few months on the main roster, the team partnered with Chad Gable, who was in the midst of a feud with Bo Dallas. The group would later be known as American Made. Despite the partnership and the new opportunities they were ready to seize, they never had the success many hoped for. In 2026, they made their way to Lucha Libre AAA, where they joined forces with the Original Grande Americano. Despite the fantastic feud between the Americanos throughout the year, The Creed Brothers didn’t really benefit from it. Before their contracts expired, they returned to NXT, attacking multiple teams and saying they were back to run rampant in the NXT Tag Team Division. Just two months after their return to NXT, they would depart the company. The Creed Brothers’ departure is another example of WWE’s failure to promote tag team wrestling correctly on their main roster, with other examples including the Wyatt Sicks’ shocking release and letting The New Day’s, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, contracts expire.
One of the biggest moves The Creed Brothers can make is signing with AEW, as their Tag Team Division is one of the hottest in the world right now. With the number of tag teams that are destined to fade out in the coming months due to multiple factors, such as Adam Copeland’s announced retirement for 2027, both men could freshen up the division and step up to some of the best AEW has to offer. Another possible move for The Creed Brothers is also GCW, a company that they are not strangers to. While still signed with WWE, they had the opportunity to compete at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport, an event with no ring ropes where the only way to win is by submission or knockout. Both men are still young and have plenty of wrestling left in their careers, so no matter where they end up, expect hard-hitting action.
