Which Superstars Will Make Their Mark at Night Two of WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas?

WWE

The show goes on in Las Vegas as WrestleMania Sunday highlights six more matches that will leave fans on their feet. Four championships are on the line, and two blood feuds will be on display as superstars look to etch their names in the history books. From the return of ‘The Demon’ to a ladder match for the ages, every match has something to prove. Who will triumph in Night Two at The Showcase of the Immortals?

CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship

‘The Best in the World’ and ‘The OTC’ will finally collide in the main event of Night Two of WrestleMania 42. CM Punk, the champion, wants nothing more than to prove that no matter how dominant Roman Reigns was during his time at the top, he could never replace Punk, the man who received cheers from the WWE Universe even when he was gone from the company. Reigns, who earned this title match after winning the 2026 Men’s Royal Rumble match, is tired of all the disrespectful things Punk has said about him and his family. Punk went as far as mentioning Reigns’ deceased father, Sika of the Wild Samoans. Punk has used this disrespect to get into Reigns’ head and get the upper hand heading into their bout. While Reigns winning the title adds to his long list of accomplishments, Punk retaining the title makes more sense. No one really knows whether Reigns will continue to compete on a part-time schedule, and Punk keeping the gold means we will see the belt more often on WWE television. Punk could also retain the belt due to outside interference that no one would see coming.

Prediction: CM Punk retains

Jade Cargill vs. Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women’s Championship

One of the weakest feuds going into WrestleMania 42 has been between WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill and challenger Rhea Ripley. It didn’t help that their promos became repetitive, with both women trying to one-up each other by talking about their strengths instead of duking it out in the ring. Cargill received help after B-FAB and Michin turned on Ripley. The match could still be a sleeper, but the presentation heading into it has been lackluster. It’s too soon for Cargill to lose the belt, so expect her to come out on top.

Prediction: Jade Cargill retains

Penta vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Rusev vs. Dragon Lee vs. JD McDonagh vs. Rey Mysterio in a Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship

A few weeks after becoming the Intercontinental Champion, Penta issued a challenge to the Raw locker room, telling them that he would put his title up for grabs at The Showcase of the Immortals. It wouldn’t be a standard match, however, as Penta decided the belt would be defended in a Ladder Match. Four worthy challengers stepped up to the plate, prepared to do whatever it took to become the new champion on the grandest stage. Rey Mysterio, who was out with an injury, made his return and announced that he would be added to the match. With five other superstars now gunning to climb the ladder and retrieve the gold, Penta will now have to find a way to walk out of Las Vegas with the title.

Winner: Penta retains

Sami Zayn vs. Trick Williams for the United States Championship

Sami Zayn finally found his way into the WrestleMania 42 card after dethroning Carmelo Hayes for the United States Championship. However, the decision to have him walk into WrestleMania and keep Hayes off the card has drawn criticism from the WWE Universe. Zayn has since received boos in every appearance he’s made, even when his opponent, Trick Williams, has clearly played the heel in this feud. It’s evident that the crowd wants Williams to win, and it’s crucial that WWE takes advantage of the criticism and turns Zayn heel while also crowning a new champion in Las Vegas.

Prediction: Trick Williams wins the United States Championship

Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar

When Brock Lesnar announced an open challenge for WrestleMania 42, there was only one name the fans wanted to see answer the call: ‘The Ruler’ Oba Femi. For weeks, Femi has laid out Lesnar, and ‘The Beast’ has been unable to respond to Femi’s freakish strength. This will be Lesnar’s biggest challenge to date, and it might seem as if Femi might be the one to humiliate Lesnar on The Grandest Stage of The All. With rumors circulating that Lesnar might be retiring this year, it’s unlikely that he will lose any matches before hanging up the vote, leaving him as the clear winner, much to the dismay of the fans.

Prediction: Brock Lesnar wins

‘The Demon’ Finn Bálor vs. Dominik Mysterio

During their shared time in Judgment Day, Finn Bálor hoped that Dominik Mysterio would grow as a competitor, but with the group having to interfere in Mysterio’s matches multiple times, Bálor felt that nothing would change. The Irish Technician decided not to help ‘Dirty Dom’ during his Intercontinental title defense against Penta, which led to him losing the belt and was the last straw in Bálor’s relationship with Judgment Day. Bálor tried to beat the respect out of Mysterio, but the group turned on Him, attacking him and kicking him out. The Demon King wants his revenge against Mysterio, but he won’t be going into this match alone, as ‘The Demon’ persona will once again make his return after disappearing for a few years. Bálor must win this match to prove that everything he said about Mysterio was correct.

Prediction: ‘The Demon’ Finn Bálor wins
