Which Superstars Will Settle the Score at Backlash 2026?

Following the events of WWE’s biggest show of the year, WrestleMania 42, WWE make their way to Tampa, Florida to host Backlash. This show features three matches that stem from actions that occurred during The Grandest Stage of Them All in Las Vegas, including a championship rematch. All these matches have one thing in common: there is bad blood between all competing members and everyone will look to not only win their respective matches, but to also make a statement against their opponents. Through heated rivalries and months of feuds that will likely reach their conclusion, which superstars will put an end to their story and walk out of Backlash in the win column?

Roman Reigns vs. Jacob Fatu for the World Heavyweight Championship

After defeating CM Punk to become the new World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania 42, the last person Roman Reigns would have expected to be his first challenger was someone from the Bloodline. Jacob Fatu stepped up to ‘The OTC’ and made his intentions clear: he wants to be the next World Champion, even if it means taking out one of his own. ‘The Samoan Werewolf’ has choked out Reigns multiple times since their first encounter, and looks poised to get the better of him when they clash for the world title. With The Usos by his side, Reigns will have to dig deep if he wants to overcome Fatu. In the end, The Usos might end up playing a factor in Reigns walking out of Backlash with the title.

Prediction: Reigns Retains

Trick Williams with Lil Yachty vs. Sami Zayn for the United States Championship

Trick Williams has been on the rise since arriving to SmackDown following a successful run in NXT. When he earned the opportunity to challenge Sami Zayn for the United States Championship, he made sure to not let it go to waste, winning the belt and etching his name in the history books. Zayn, however, has been on the receiving end of constant boos from the fans ever since he took the title off of Carmelo Hayes. Despite being portrayed as the good guy of the story, the fans turned on him in favor of Williams. The longtime WWE star has been mocked and dubbed ‘The Gingerbread Man’ by Williams, as a way to mess with Zayn and get into his head. Although he does everything to protect his image, the fans are still siding with the rising star. Now the two men will once again clash for the title at Backlash, and with the fans by his side, Williams is sure to get the better of Zayn once again.

Prediction: Williams Retains

Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker with Paul Heyman

Months after being kicked out of The Vision, the faction he started, Seth Rollins will finally step inside the ring with the man that attacked him in the first place: Bron Breakker. Rollins had to step away following the attack to recover from an injury, but that didn’t stop him from making The Vision’s life a living hell. He hid under a mask and attacked Breakker as he was making his entry into the 2026 Royal Rumble match, leading to Oba Femi eliminating Breakker from the match. The veteran superstar would then attack Logan Paul at Elimination Chamber 2026, costing him the match before revealing himself under the mask. Since the rising star was unable to compete at WrestleMania due to an injury, the former WrestleMania challenger ended up facing Gunther in Las Vegas. At the conclusion of the match, Breakker made his return and speared the veteran, costing him the match. The faction’s founder has vowed to take down The Vision once and for all, but he’ll have to overcome the faction’s biggest challenge if he wants that to happen. While Rollins might want to seek his revenge, Breakker’s athleticism and speed will prove to be too much for ‘The Visionary’.

Prediction: Breakker Wins

Iyo Sky vs. Asuka

Ever since Asuka and Iyo Sky’s relationship broke down, ‘The Empress of Tomorrow’ has blamed everyone for ruining her friendship with Sky, from Rhea Ripley to Kairi Sane. ‘The Genius of the Sky’ has tried everything to fix things with Asuka, but it seems like the longtime rival isn’t interested in being friends again. Her only fixation is beating up Sky and making her pay for all the bad things that have happened to her. Sky finally accepted that she has to fight Asuka and quiet her for good. Both women should go out and deliver an amazing back-and-forth match, but only one can walk out as the victor. Without Sane by her side anymore, the former champion will leave Backlash as the winner, but the match might not be as clean as people might expect. Although it seems highly unlikely due to the circumstances, a possible return might occur that costs Asuka the match and puts an end to this chapter in her story.

Prediction: Sky Wins

The Miz and Kit Wilson vs. Danhausen and Mystery Partner

Danhausen has grown in popularity ever since he made his WWE debut at Elimination Chamber 2026. However, this growth has come at a cost, as Danhausen’s curses have been received negatively by the likes of The Miz and Kit Wilson. They believe his toxic traits are ruining the locker room. The WWE newcomer even made Miz and Wilson look like a fool in front of host John Cena at WrestleMania 42. Miz and Wilson have agreed to a match against Danhausen at Backlash, but only if he is able to find a partner for the match. Although there seems to be no indication on who the mystery partner might be, it could either be the return of a wrestler or just another celebrity. Whoever the mystery partner might be, they’ll surely be of help for the fan favorite and help carry him to his first Premium Live Event victory.

Prediction: Danhausen and Mystery Partner Win
