Who Are Some Freshman Quarterbacks That Are Bound to Make an Impact in Week Three?

Week Three is going to be intense, packed with back-to-back rivalries, SEC Matchups, Big 12 games, and more. Freshman quarterbacks have been on fire so far this season, showcasing poise and playmaking well beyond their years. From breakout performances to clutch drives, these young signal callers are rewriting expectations. Here are some quarterbacks who will make an impact this week.

Bryce Underwood, Michigan

Bryce Underwood committed to LSU for nearly a year, but then made the switch to Michigan. Last Week, Underwood picked up three carries for one yard during Michigan's last game against Oklahoma, where Michigan lost. However, despite the loss, Underwood demonstrated flashes of brilliance, including a 44-yard strike to Donaven McCulley. He has also obtained a total of 393 passing yards this season. Not bad for a true freshman making his first road start in Norman.

Bear Bachmeier, BYU Cougars

Bear Bachmeier is an electric player who is always on top of his game. He has already earned Big 12 Freshmen of the Week honors for his explosive debut against Portland State.  He has accumulated 272 passing yards, zero interceptions, and three passing touchdowns this season. He’s shown flashes of tempo control and steady decision making-even against tough defenses like Stanford.

Jaron-Keawe Sagapoulutele, California

Jaron-Keawe Sagapoulutele is off to a great start. He is accurate, productive, and composed, with 493 yards and just one interception through two games; he's already showing signs of being a reliable leader for Cal's offense. If he keeps this pace, he could be one of the breakout stars in the ACC. His early command of the pocket and ability to stretch the field have given the Golden Bears a spark that could redefine their season trajectory.

Malik Washington, Maryland

Malik Washington has made tons of progress as a freshman in his college career. He has thrown for 256.0 yards per game so far this season, with three touchdowns overall, and one interception. He is a commanding presence, an eruptive quarterback whose explosive debut has already made him the heartbeat of Maryland's offense. His ability to deliver timely throws has elevated the Maryland passing game, giving the team an edge for its entire season.
