Who Was the MVP for Seattle in the 2025 NFL Season?

NFL

The Seahawks have had their fair share of star players this season compared to the last few years, highlighted by an impressive 14-3 record. Some of those contributors are rookies beginning their careers in Seattle, while others are more seasoned NFL veterans. That success has not diminished the legacy of the Seattle Seahawks as a franchise in any way, as they currently hold the first seed in the 2025 NFC Playoffs. The team has time to rest and recuperate before returning to action. In the meantime, several players have truly stood out through their effort, energy, and overall talent. One player in particular has emerged as the most impactful performer on the roster, at least from a personal perspective. He has separated himself among the top players on the Seahawks, both this season and within the broader context of the franchise.

That player is none other than star wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who is currently a member of the Associated Press All-Pro team. This achievement comes in addition to being selected to the NFL Pro Bowl in back-to-back seasons. Smith-Njigba has recorded 282 career receptions, with an average of 12.6 yards per catch and 20 receiving touchdowns as of this season. He also leads the league in total receiving yards, amassing 3,551 yards. Those numbers reflect a remarkable rise in production. His career trajectory has largely trended upward, with only occasional mistakes along the way. Perfection is unrealistic at the NFL level, even for elite players, and Smith-Njigba continues to compete at a high standard regardless of experience level or career stage.

There remains room for improvement for Smith-Njigba, and his long-term future in Seattle is still to be determined. He could explore opportunities elsewhere once his rookie contract expires, which is eligible for renewal in 2027, unless he chooses to extend his stay and continue his success with the Seahawks. How that decision unfolds will become clearer once the playoffs begin. After the wild-card matchups determine the remaining field, Seattle will face stiff competition depending on the final seeding. With the right momentum and execution, the Seahawks could find themselves competing in the Super Bowl if they get lucky at all through round two and beyond as the playoff rounds progress in the coming weeks.
