Who Will Emerge Victorious at AAA Triplemanía XXXIII?
AAA is set to host their biggest show of the year as Triplemanía XXXIII is expected to be one of AAA’s most important events yet. Featuring superstars from WWE, Triplemanía XXXIII will display an amazing night of lucha libre, with four of the five matches featuring a championship title on the line. From tag team matches to multiple-man bouts, there will be chaos no matter what happens. Here, we will predict who will walk out of each match with their hands held high.
AAA Mega Championship - El Hijo del Vikingo (champion) vs. Dominik Mysterio vs. Dragon Lee vs. El Grande Americano
After taking the title from Alberto el Patrón, El Hijo del Vikingo will face the biggest challenge of his career when he defends the title against three of WWE’s biggest stars. Dragon Lee is no stranger to AAA, as he called the promotion his home before joining WWE. El Grande Americano and Dominik Mysterio will be making their first appearances in AAA. Mysterio, who has been one of the best WWE heels in recent years, gained the support of the AAA crowd following a surprise appearance, and with the rumor that AAA wants to make him the new face of the company, this would be the perfect moment to crown Mysterio as a double champion.
Prediction: Dominik Mysterio to win the Mega Championship
The Judgement Day (Finn Bálor, JD McDonagh and Raquel Rodriguez) w/ Roxanne Perez vs. Mr. Iguana, Niño Hamburguesa and Lola Vice
Not only will Dominik Mysterio have his hands full at Triplemanía XXXIII, but the Judgement Day will also feature in a mixed tag team match. This match will feature Mr. Iguana, who has risen to stardom with the WWE Universe following his appearance at WWE Worlds Collide. Now a fan favorite, AAA should look into capitalizing on Mr. Iguana’s popularity. As well as handing NXT superstar Lola Vice a much-needed win.
Prediction: Mr. Iguana, Niño Hamburguesa and Lola Vice win
AAA World Tag Team Championship (Street Fight) - Los Garza (champions) vs. Pagano and Psycho Clown
Los Garza made history by becoming the first WWE-contracted team to win an AAA Championship. They have made the most of this opportunity by defending their titles on an episode of SmackDown against Mr. Iguana and Psycho Clown. Although he was unsuccessful in winning the titles, Psycho Clown has made it his mission to take the titles from Los Garza. Now teaming with Pagano, a Street Fight will determine who will continue the lineage of the tag team titles. It’s too soon to take the titles off of Los Garza, and AAA will benefit from the titles being featured more on WWE television.
Prediction: Los Garza retain the World Tag Team Championship
AAA Latin American Championship - El Mesías (champion) vs. El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr.
This match features a lot of history between the two competitors, because it was at Triplemanía XVII when Dr. Wagner Jr. defeated El Mesías to win his first AAA Mega Championship. Now, 16 years later, his son will have the opportunity to win his first championship in AAA against the same opponent. If there was ever a match to have a feel-good moment for the audience to enjoy, this would be it. This is the perfect match to make it happen.
Prediction: El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. to win the Latin American Championship
AAA Reina de Reinas Championship - Lady Flamer (champion) vs. Faby Apache vs. Natalya
Lady Flamer is coming into this match having just reached two years with the Reina de Reinas Championship. With the addition of Natalya, who has gone on a recent spree of competing in different wrestling promotions such as GCW and NWA, it should add an extra layer of competitiveness for all three women. Although Fabi Apache will be looking to win her fifth World Championship in AAA, the odds are against her. It seems more than likely that Flamer’s historic reign will continue to reach new heights.
Prediction: Lady Flamer to retain the Reina de Reinas Championship
AAA Triplemanía XXXIII will take place on August 16th at the CDMX Arena in Mexico City, Mexico. This will be the 33rd mainline Triplemanía event and the 47th overall under the Triplemanía name. This show will also be the first Triplemanía held under WWE ownership since AAA was acquired by WWE in April 2025. It will be live-streamed on WWE’s YouTube channel with English and Spanish commentary.
