Who Will Win the 2025 World Wide Technology Championship?

PGA

The 2025 World Wide Technology Championship will take place in the El Cardonal course, which was the first golf course created by 15-time major champion Tiger Woods and his design firm, TGR Design. Set along the stunning Los Cabos coastline, the course offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the beauty of Mexico. Diamante also includes the acclaimed Dunes Course, designed by Davis Love III, and the Oasis Short Course — a twelve-hole, par-three layout also crafted by Woods. With the recent course, there are only two candidates who can win the tournament in El Cardonal this week. The tournament runs from October 30th to November 2nd.

Michael Brennan

Michael Brennan’s rise is rare and delightful to see in the game of golf. Spectators watched as Brennan powered his way around Black Desert Resort, averaging an impressive 351 yards off the tee. His precision matched his distance. At one point, he found 34 of 35 fairways en route to a four-shot victory in his PGA Tour debut as a professional. While the fairways were generous, his driver was performing as well as anyone’s this season. In fact, it was the top driving display of 2025, with the PGA Tour’s Sean Martin noting Brennan’s 7.6 strokes gained off the tee — the highest mark on tour this year.

Rico Hoey

Rico Hoey deserves an honorable mention for being the runner-up for the 2025 Bank of Utah Championship. Hoey, who admits he’s always been a “streaky” putter, decided it was time for a major change. Teaming up with his putting coach, Marcus Potter, and his caddie, Bryan Martin, he searched for a fix. Ultimately, they chose to have Hoey experiment with a broomstick putter in hopes of improving his performance on the greens and securing his place on the PGA Tour. Just one putter switch later, the 30-year-old has gained clarity about his career and a renewed sense of purpose, aiming to build momentum rather than simply extend his time on tour. “It’s something I just want to keep getting better, giving myself chances to win like this week, and so if it happens and I play well and get into the Signature Events, great,” Hoey said. “If not, I’m just going to keep my head down and keep working hard.”
