Who Will Win the AFC East in 2025-26?
The NFL Draft has concluded, and many of the top free agents have found new NFL homes. Knowing this, football fans are waiting impatiently to see their teams compete in the 2025 season. When it comes to the AFC East, rookie minicamp and OTAs have been concluded for all the teams in the division, which means that mandatory minicamp is just around the corner. With that in mind, there’s no better time to think about what this upcoming season will entail. In this piece, we’ll take a look at the four teams. The AFC East and predict the records of all of them.
Buffalo Bills (12-5)
Another year in the 2020s means another dominant season for the Buffalo Bills, claiming their sixth consecutive division title. They’re quickly making up for the previous two decades of underwhelming play on the field by continuing their authority over the rest of their division. They didn’t stop at just the division, though. The team finally got over the hump, running through the conference and going from a three-seed to winning their first AFC Championship since the 90s, punching their first ticket to the Super Bowl in the Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane era.
New England Patriots (10-7)
Mike Vrabel quickly makes the Patriots a tough team to play against in his first season in Foxborough. New England exceeded all expectations with Drake Maye putting together a very good sophomore season. Free agent Morgan Moses and first-round pick Will Campbell turn out to be exceptional additions to the team and help propel Maye to the next level. With the offense taking strides, fresh new faces on the defense helped secure wins as well. Harold Landry and Carlton Davis proved to be great fits that made the defense a feared unit in this league.
Miami Dolphins (8-9)
After being predicted by many to dethrone the Bills as AFC East Champions in 2024, the Dolphins take yet another step back by failing to even finish with a .500 record in 2025. With so many injuries that plagued Tua Tagovailoa in the past, his play finally declined in his age-27 season. With rumors of Jalen Ramsey sitting out for minicamp, it’s not without reason to assume that he won’t be playing in Miami this upcoming season. After failing to compile a winning record by December, the Dolphins brass decided to let Mike McDaniel go, leading to a discombobulated interim coach attempting to save the season and limping to the finish line in the process.
New York Jets (5-12)
Unfortunately for the Jets, Justin Fields wasn’t the answer. After finishing at the bottom of the division, the team finished with a bottom-10 in the NFL’s standings for the ninth time since 2012. Despite the underwhelming finish, Aaron Glenn was only in his first season and had time to turn the franchise around. Hopefully, by finishing with such a bad record, the team can be in a good position to draft Arch Manning, Garrett Nussmeier, or Cade Klubnik to be their QB of the future.
