Why a Two-Time Women’s World Champion Should Win the 2026 Royal Rumble

WWE

Since the June 16th episode of Monday Night Raw, two-time Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan has been out with a shoulder injury. The injury occurred when Morgan landed awkwardly on her shoulder against Kairi Sane, resulting in a dislocation that required surgery. Before the injury, the two-time Women’s World Champion was feuding with Nikki Bella, and around the same time, storylines for the all-women’s pay-per-view Evolution were occurring. WWE reportedly had to make major shifts to the Evolution pay-per-view after Morgan got injured. Proving how valuable she is to the company’s future plans.

The inaugural Women’s Crown Jewel Champion’s return is imminent. It seems like Morgan will be returning sooner rather than later. During the first Royal Rumble outside North America in Saudi Arabia, Liv Morgan should have the prestige honor of being added to the list of women Royal Rumble winners. Morgan being crowned the winner of the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble would not only hype up her long-awaited return but would certainly set up an incredible dream matchup between either current Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer or Nikki Bella, who’s challenging Vaquer for the belt at Survivor Series. Initially, having the Morgan/Bella feud continue would be great to see, yet it’s too difficult to tell whether WWE would let a hot commodity like Vaquer, who has become a household name, lose her title two months into winning the vacant strap.

Liv Morgan should be the one challenging for the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 42. She was the runner-up in the 2023 and 2024 Royal Rumble. During the 2025 rumble, she lasted over an hour and seven minutes before being eliminated by Nia Jax. A surprise appearance in Saudi Arabia for the rumble will hype up fans from all over the world. Her return would also continue the much-needed fuel within ‘The Judgement Day’ storylines.

A Royal Rumble win would solidify Morgan as one of the best women wrestlers of today’s age. Over the last year and a half, she has elevated her work inside and outside the ring, being a huge player in major storylines, and whether she’s being cheered or booed, she’s an important piece within the women’s division. From all the work she’s put in the last few years, this would be a justified win for Morgan; she deserves the shine and to come back stronger than ever. The biggest question surrounding the two-tome Women’s World Champion is whether she’ll return to Raw before the end of 2025. If she doesn’t show up in any premium live event by the end of this year, a surprise appearance at the Royal Rumble is closing in.
