Why ‘Mr. Whoop Dat’ Should Win the 2026 Men’s Money in the Bank Match
Back at Sunday Night’s Main Event on September 6th, Lil Yachty outlasted the five-minute time limit against Baron Corbin, immediately giving Trick Williams another United States Championship opportunity. ‘Mr. Whoop Dat’ would win his second US title and would speak to the Friday Night SmackDown crowd in Houston, Texas, during the September 11th edition. Williams talked about how it was nice to win the United States Championship again, but it would look even better if the two-time United States champ carried two titles around his shoulders, and he wants to enter the Money in the Bank Qualifier Matches. So far, Bron Breakker is the only man to have qualified for Money in the Bank, and many are saying ‘The Unpredictable Badass’ should win this match. However, ‘Mr. Whoop Dat’ would also be a favorite, considering if he does qualify.
Since debuting on the main roster, the WWE Universe has acknowledged how much of a star Williams is. From his aura to his charisma, to his character as a whole, and even being paired up alongside Yachty, ‘Mr. Whoop Dat’ has it all. The two-time United States Champion defeated Sami Zayn for the title and didn’t look back until Corbin got in Williams way at SummerSlam. Yet, ‘Mr. Lemon Pepper Stepper’ got his revenge over Labor Day weekend at Sunday Night’s Main Event. Even when it seemed like their feud would be over, both Williams and Corbin are still fighting over the title, with ‘The Nomad’ attacking the champion after he spoke to the WWE Universe on this past episode of SmackDown.
With Zayn in his second Undisputed WWE Championship reign, it seems more predictable that ‘The Last Real Good Guy’ would be the one who gets cashed in on by the World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns. With Williams and Zayn feuding before, ‘Mr. Whoop Dat’ could be the perfect guy to end the run of ‘The Last Real Good Guy’. Surely, Zayn’s second WWE Championship reign will last longer than his first, which stood at just nine days, but if WWE wants to make the move on someone sooner rather than later, ‘Mr. Whoop Dat’ is the guy. A World Championship reign would rocket Williams as one of the top faces and cornerstones of WWE’s future.
Putting Williams in the main event scene would put him in new feuds against superstars we have not seen him face before, which makes WWE television more interesting to tune in to. ‘Mr. Whoop Dat’ could have Yachty help him cash in through a multitude of ways, whether that’s being a distraction, hitting the champion with the briefcase, using the Trick Stick, or even wrestling to help Williams get a shot at becoming a World Champion. This duo has taken SmackDown by storm, and the momentum shouldn’t stop any time soon. Putting the Money in the Bank briefcase on the two-time United States Champion could push Williams to the stratosphere and become of the biggest names in wrestling.
