Why Roxanne Perez and ‘Big Mami Cool’ Will Turn Face at Night of Champions 2026

WWE

This past episode of Friday Night SmackDown saw the Judgement Day take over both the Queen and King of the Ring tournaments. Raquel Rodriguez started the stable’s night by winning without the need for any distractions, interferences, or confusion from other stablemates. She has been booked as a legitimate contender to Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley and Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan since joining the Judgement Day alongside Roxanne Perez. Current AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio won his qualifying match with the help of JD McDonagh and his onscreen girlfriend, Morgan. McDonagh took a South of Heaven from former Judgement Day member Damian Priest, which provided a distraction for the referee to attend to. The former World Heavyweight Champion was about to deliver a South of Heaven to Mysterio before the Women’s World Champion hit the former Judgement Day member below the belt. This helped ‘Tom and Nick’ deliver a 619 and a Frog Splash to pin the former World Heavyweight Champion.

Morgan and Mysterio haven’t been booked as the strongest of champions. The current Women’s World Champion needed Perez’s and Rodriguez’s help to capture the title from Stephanie Vaquer at WrestleMania 42. The current AAA Mega Champion needed help from then-mentor Finn Balor, El Grande Americano, and McDonagh to capture the title from El Hijo Del Vikingo. Perez and McDonagh haven’t been booked strongly, either. Both have been Tag Team Champions at some point during their time in the stable, but their singles-run success while in the stable has been underwhelming at best. McDonagh has been booked as the fall guy in matches who takes the biggest bumps, with the most recent example being from this past Friday. ‘Roxy’ hasn’t been booked as a real threat in the women’s division, only winning her singles matches when Judgment Day helps her out or when she finds a way to lie, cheat, or steal. It doesn’t help that she hasn’t won a singles match on Raw in 2026.

Perez was booked quite strongly as a face in NXT. Fans liked her ‘prodigy’ character, who was trying to stay as positive as possible. Fans couldn’t take her initial heel character seriously, but it has evolved over time. WWE’s creative team wasn’t the nicest to her character on the main roster. A face turn could unlock something in ‘Roxy’ to connect her more with the WWE universe, something that has been lacking since she joined the Judgement Day.

The Judgement Day has been notorious for kicking out its leaders. Priest and Ripley turned on founder Edge after Balor joined the stable. They were, in turn, kicked out by Balor and Morgan. McDonagh and Mysterio kicked out ‘The Prince’ shortly before WrestleMania 42. The stable has been a staple on Monday Night Raw for the past four years, even outliving The Bloodline storyline, but their inevitable breakup has been long overdue.

Last Monday’s segment saw a narcissistic and entitled Morgan envisioning her and her boyfriend taking the crowns back into the Judgement Day after Perez was trying to get sympathy from the group shortly after her loss. Everyone in the clubhouse felt some type of way before appeasing their current leaders. ‘Roxy’, on the other hand, looked like she felt abandoned by the people she saw as family. Rodriguez noticed this as the Women’s World Champion continued her soliloquy. ‘Big Mami Cool’ was trying to get the champ’s attention for a good while, and when the champ decided to talk to her apprentice, she gave the shallowest advice and support possible. Perez looked like she knew this, but didn’t say anything to anyone.

Rodriguez doesn’t need the stable. She’s a future Women’s Champion. She’s going up against Iyo Sky in the semifinals of the Queen of the Ring tournament, a former Women’s Champion in her own right. That isn’t going to be an easy matchup, but ‘Big Mami Cool’ doesn’t need any help from the Judgement Day. Morgan could find a way to sabotage the matchup by coming out to “help” Rodriguez or sending Perez to help her out, but ruin the match for her instead. ‘Roxy’ will continue to be jealous of Morgan and furious with the way the Women’s World Champion is treating her, creating more distance between the two. By Night of Champions, Rodriguez could stand in front of Morgan or someone else who could take the title from her, scaring the champ into paranoia and attacking all threats she sees for her title. This would result in Morgan forcing Perez to pick between herself and ‘Big Mami Cool’, and if that decision would need to be made by Night of Champions, Perez would side with Rodriguez to thwart the plans of the Women’s World Champion.
