Why Stephanie Vaquer is a Future Superstar in the Women’s Division
Since signing with the WWE in 2024, Stephanie Vaquer has been one of the fastest-rising stars on the NXT brand. She was already an international star, but since joining the Silver and Black brand, she has been given a rocket ship to the top of the sports entertainment mountain. La Primera won the NXT Women’s North American Championship at Vengeance Day in February and then the NXT Women’s Championship in a winner-take-all match at Roadblock. Vaquer’s popularity has soared since then, and she has become a fan favorite amongst the WWE Universe. The way that she has gotten over so quickly has made WWE officials salivate over her future growth and potential superstardom once she gets called to the main roster.
The 32-year-old Chilean wrestler has all the ingredients to be a big star in the WWE: the looks, the technique, and the popularity. All of these things were on full display in the past two episodes of Monday Night Raw when she held her own with Iyo Sky, a potential match that fans could see in the future, and when she defeated Ivy Nile. It was a smart decision on WWE’s part to introduce her on the Raw after WrestleMania, one of their biggest shows of the year, and then feature her on the following episode so that more fans could see her. The diehard wrestling fans already know about her, but some fans do not watch NXT, so introducing her over the past two weeks on Raw was to get her in front of a big audience and display her as a future star of the women’s division. Vaquer also surpassed one million followers on Instagram this week, an indicator that introducing her to a bigger audience worked in her favor.
With NXT expected to go through a talent shake-up, Vaquer will be positioned as a central figure going forward. She could even dominate the division for a long time before elevating someone else before she gets a call-up to the main roster. Once she gets to either Raw or SmackDown, her ability to deliver high-level matches and captivate audiences will be on full display for the world to see. Just imagine the potential dream matches that La Primera could have against Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, and Charlotte Flair. Stephanie Vaquer has all the talent in the world, and her journey to superstardom in the WWE is going to go up from here.
