Why the Packers Injuries Are Nothing to Worry About in 2026
Training camp has begun around the league, signaling that the return of football is near. One of the most interesting teams heading into the season is the Green Bay Packers. The Packers began the first half of 2025 on fire but got into a funk towards the end of the year. Following four straight losses to end the regular season, the Packers lost in the Wild Card round to their division rival, the Chicago Bears. The disappointment and pain were felt throughout the fanbase, as not only did their playoff run end quickly, but they also had a series of injuries that were a major concern. Now, the Packers are trying to return to form next year. The first injury came in November, immediately changing the direction of their 2025 season.
Tight end Tucker Kraft suffered a torn ACL during a game against the Carolina Panthers, devastatingly ending his season. Edge rusher Micah Parsons would also suffer the same injury, happening in December right before the playoffs. Both players are arguably the two best on the team, and their absence could end their season and playoff run quickly. The absence was felt, as both the offense and the defense were different. The 2026 season immediately became a question mark for both stars, as the severity of their injuries could affect their careers. Fortunately for Packers fans, training camp has been a great sign that things may not be too bad.
Kraft practiced on Friday, the first time back on the field since his injury. The star tight end came off the physically unable to perform list as well, sending signs that his injury is healing quickly. Green Bay's emerging tight end doubled down, implying that he’s absolutely aiming to be ready to go in Week One. Luckily for the former Pro Bowler, this bodes well for a contract extension; that’s a major decision coming up for the Packers organization. Kraft has done more than enough to earn a large contract; it’s just a matter of when it will be signed. Parsons’ situation is a bit different, as he will not be ready to go by Week One. Packers fans can expect their star edge rusher not to return for the first four weeks of the season; however, after that, it's an open game for a return. Parsons' injury has continued to heal well, and he’s continued to help around practice as he awaits the green light to get on the field. Both players are trending upward, which should only get Green Bay fans more excited for 2026.
