Why ‘The Prodigy’ Should Win the 2026 Women’s Money in the Bank Match
On the September 21st episode of Monday Night Raw in San Antonio, another Money in the Bank Women’s Qualifier Match took place between ‘The Genius of the Sky’ Iyo Sky, the AAA Reina de Reinas Champion La Catalina, and ‘The Prodigy’ Roxanne Perez. In this liberating matchup, Sky looked to finish the other two women off with her Over the Moonsault; however, ‘The Genius of the Sky’ only hit La Catalina, as Perez moved away at the right time. This would give ‘The Prodigy’ time to perform Pop Rocks on Sky to get the pin and win, qualifying for the 2026 Women’s Money in the Bank Match alongside Sol Ruca, Jacy Jayne, and Lola Vice. After both The Judgment Day’s Liv Morgan lost her WWE Women’s World Championship to Stephanie Vaquer, and Dominik Mysterio lost his AAA Mega Championship to El Grande Americano, the only piece of gold the group holds is Rauqel Rodriguez and her WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship, putting the Money in the Bank briefcase on Perez would help push along The Judgment Day storyline and finally move ‘The Prodigy’ into the main event scene, something the WWE Universe has been waiting for a long time.
Perez is one of four women who’ve held the NXT Women’s Championship twice. After she moved to the main roster and the Raw brand, ‘The Prodigy’ was an obvious fit for The Judgment Day, which had just lost Carlito, and a story was starting to turn toward a potential Finn Bálor removal from the group. When Morgan got injured in mid-June 2025, it looked like she and Rodriguez would have to give up their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, but instead they replaced Morgan and gave the title to the group's newest member, Perez. Both Rodriguez and the former two-time NXT Women’s Champion held the titles for 33 days before losing them to Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam 2025. Since then, Perez has had plenty of matches, but has mostly played a background character to the rest of her Judgment Day members.
This is exactly why ‘The Prodigy’ needs to win the 2026 Women’s Money in the Bank Match. Getting her into the spotlight and continuing to showcase her incredible in-ring ability would only help her young career thrive. Allowing Perez to split from The Judgment Day allows her to become an actual singles star and elevate her popularity within the WWE Universe. That’s why she’s nicknamed ‘The Prodigy’. The former two-time NXT Women’s Champion is here to be a WWE cornerstone for the next decade or so, and that all starts with winning Money in the Bank.
It would be interesting to see Perez as a heel trying to cash in potentially on Vaquer, but I think many are ready to see ‘The Prodigy’ back as a babyface. She’s been a heel since 2024, and a switch in her character could be a nice refresh the WWE Universe could love. The former two-time NXT Women’s Champion could also cash in on WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green as well, but it seems like Friday Night SmackDown is the home for all the former Judgment Day members: Bálor, Damian Priest, and Rhea Ripley. During this past episode of Raw, general manager Adam Pearce showcased the newest member of the brand, Vice, who started talking about why she’ll be the next Women’s Money in the Bank winner, but Perez interrupted, and their rivalry from NXT in 2024 reignited. That should be a great storyline heading into the match. Also, all four women thus far were on NXT at the same time at one point. Nonetheless, ‘The Prodigy’ needs to win Money in the Bank to remove her from being a background character in The Judgment Day.
