Why This Former Women's Champion Should Win Money in the Bank

WWE

The Money in the Bank Premium Live Event is fast approaching. At this event, two superstars will have the opportunity to grab a briefcase with a contract inside that guarantees them a championship opportunity for up to a year, and they can cash it in whenever they want. The women’s field is loaded with popular veteran stars, such as Rhea Ripley and Alexa Bliss, and recent NXT call-ups such as Giulia and Roxanne Perez. However, there is one woman who stands out above the rest and should be the favorite to win this match, and that is the woman who recently turned heel, Naomi.

This is not the same Naomi who wanted fans to feel the glow, this is a version of Naomi who feels she was not being taken seriously by the fans or management. The former SmackDown Women’s Champion is no longer a third wheel to Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill anymore. She is standing out on her one and doing things her way. With this recent heel turn, Naomi has shown depths and layers to her character. An example would be on the May 30th episode of SmackDown, when she told to Belair that she broke into her parents’ house and it would be a bad look for both Belair and her momma to be in wheelchairs, and she said it with a sadistic smile. This new version of Naomi is not holding back on anybody anymore. The former Women’s Tag Team Champion even took out Cargill and had a defining feud with her that culminated at WrestleMania. Money in the Bank winners work better as heels anyway. By having Naomi win this match, she could seize the opportunity to get back to the top of the women’s division and should be looming over both Iyo Sky and Tiffany Stratton’s shoulders.

Taking a look at the field once again, it makes sense for Naomi to win this match so that she can have a defining moment of her heel run. For example, Rhea Ripley is so over with the audience that she does not need to win this match to become champion. Alexa Bliss is involved in a program with Charlotte Flair, and there is no indication that it will stop or what that is leading to. Giulia seems to be going after the Women’s United States Championship once this event is over, and Perez is involved with The Judgement Day on Raw. It is all lining up for Naomi to return to the mountaintop of the women’s division, and if her recent heel work is any indication, she is going to be a very dangerous champion when that time comes.
