Will ‘The Beautiful Madness’ Have a Match At SummerSlam?
The first-ever two-night SummerSlam is coming soon in just 11 days. So far, nine matches have been announced. Presumably, there will be 14 matches in total, with seven matches occurring on both nights. After the July 21st episode of Monday Night Raw, we could assume Roman Reigns will be taking on Bron Breakker, or Reigns and Jey Uso will face off against Breakker and Big Bronson Reed. Championship-wise, SummerSlam is without both tag team titles as well as the Women’s United States Championship. With minimal spots left, will there be enough room for all the major players in the WWE? Since winning the WWE Women’s United States Championship 24 days ago in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, we have not seen Giulia defend her title once. ‘The Beautiful Madness’ doesn’t have much competition in the mid-card, and as a former NXT Women’s Champion, she has the chance to dominate with her title for a long time to come. With the title not being defended, and with not much competition in the mid-card, it begs the question: will Giulia have a match at SummerSlam?
Speaking to ABEMA, Guilia talked about the first-ever two-night SummerSlam, “So far it’s only been one day, right? It shows that WWE is getting bigger and bigger. I feel most deeply that I am in a truly amazing place. I also really want to be in those super big matches. If I don’t do anything for two days, I don’t think I can forgive myself. So I definitely have to get in there. I want to have a title match.” She continued by saying, “Even now, the most important thing to me is being myself. I want to show a special costume or look. Since I came to America, I have many Giulia special moves that I haven’t shown in matches yet. I wish I could show that.” ‘The Beautiful Madness’ defeated Zelina Vega to win the title, and that very well may be her opponent potentially at SummerSlam, as there are not a lot of women babyfaces left on the SmackDown roster. Other potential opponents could be Michin, B-Fab, or even Nikki Cross of the Wyatt Sicks. It wouldn’t make much sense to have a heel versus a heel; there are too many on the SmackDown roster: Chelsea Green, Alba Fyre, Piper Niven, Nia Jax, and Candice LeRae, and the only other babyfaces; Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair are now forming a team at SummerSlam to compete for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez of The Judgement Day.
Giulia should have a match at SummerSlam for the WWE Women’s United States Championship. Besides the all-women’s spectacle known as Evolution, which took place nearly 10 days ago, ‘The Beautiful Madness’ has not appeared on a premium live event. Stephanie Vaquer, who beat Giulia for the NXT Women’s Championship earlier in the year, has appeared on the Money in the Bank and Evolution premium live event. ‘La Primera’ won the Evolution Battle Royale to earn a championship opportunity at Clash in Paris against either Naomi, Rhea Ripley, or Iyo Sky. It’s time the world also sees how incredibly gifted Giulia is in the ring, just like they do with Vaquer. While she would most likely retain her championship against whoever she faces at SummerSlam, Zelina Vega seems like the most logical opponent, especially since the show is at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey and Vega is from Queens, New York. The crowd could give that huge pop to almost the hometown hero in Vega. Yet, whoever her opponent should be, Giulia deserves to be on this show.
