Will the Cowboys Make a Trade Before the Deadline?

NFL

With the NFL Trade Deadline approaching, the Dallas Cowboys have emerged as a key team in trade rumors. Everyone in the NFL is aware of the Cowboys' significant struggles on the defensive side of football, which has made them an exciting team to watch. As of this point, Dallas is looking to add a pass rusher, which is ironic, as they traded arguably the best one in the NFL before the start of the season. The Cowboys are in need of help, but who will they trade for, and will they actually make a trade?

Initially, there was a lot of speculation about Maxx Crosby potentially being traded to Dallas, especially as reports surfaced that the Cowboys were making calls around the league. However, the Raiders swiftly denied these rumors, asserting that Crosby would not be leaving the team. NFL Insider Ian Rapoport said some names to look out for were Dolphins Jaelan Phillips and Bradley Chubb, along with Malcolm Koonce from the Raiders. Logan Wilson of the Bengals was another name to look at; while he is not a pass rusher, Dallas has at least shown interest in fixing the linebacking corps. The Cowboys have their eyes on several players, being very aggressive, but can fans trust them to actually make a trade?

Honestly, it is difficult to say whether the Cowboys will make a trade, but one thing is for certain: they have not been this aggressive in a long time. The last time Dallas executed a significant in-season trade was when they dealt a first-round pick for Amari Cooper in 2018. Notably, they finished that season by winning seven out of their last nine games. Stephen Jones and Jerry Jones’s favorite saying in these moments is that “it takes two to tango,” and even with the Cowboys wanting to be aggressive, they need to find a trade partner. Personally, I do feel the Cowboys will make a trade. It is difficult to predict who will be the player in the trade, but if the Cowboys enter Tuesday after yet another disappointing loss to the Cardinals, don't be surprised if they pay a substantial price to acquire a pass rusher who is headed to Dallas.
