Will ‘The Eradicator’ Survive The Storm at WrestleMania?
The Women’s Elimination Chamber match featured six of WWE’s top talent competing to survive inside the grueling structure with an opportunity to compete for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania. When all was said and done, it was Rhea Ripley who came out on top, earning the right to stand across from Jade Cargill in Las Vegas. This is not Ripley’s first WrestleMania rodeo, as she will be competing for another championship in her seventh straight WrestleMania match. On the other side, it’ll be Cargill’s third WrestleMania match and first world title defense on The Showcase of the Immortals. Can Cargill overcome the experienced Ripley and earn her second WrestleMania win, or will ‘The Eradicator’ continue to prove why ‘Mami’ is always on top?
Ripley is one of WWE’s most decorated women’s champions of all time. Since debuting in NXT, ‘Mami’ has displayed her dominance over the Women’s Division. She captured the NXT Women’s Championship from Shayna Baszler, who at the time was the second-longest-reigning NXT Women’s champion in history. Ripley would then make waves on the main roster, including a WrestleMania victory over Asuka, where she would win the Raw Women’s Championship. Ripley wouldn’t necessarily achieve complete stardom until she joined Judgement Day, where her infamous ‘Mami’ nickname was born. Her time in Judgement Day proved to be fruitful, as she would win the 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble match and then defeat Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39 for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. After the title was changed to the Women’s World title, Ripley would continue to assert her dominance as the top star of the main roster. Ripley will look to add another world title reign to her name following her win inside the Elimination Chamber. Ripley knows what the spotlight feels like, and she will bring her absolute best under the bright lights of Las Vegas.
Cargill’s WWE story might be short, but it is still filled with a few title reigns. Since joining WWE in 2023, Cargill has also left her mark on the main roster, winning the Women’s Tag Team titles on two occasions alongside Bianca Belair, winning the 2025 Queen of the Ring, and dethroning Tiffany Stratton to become the WWE Women’s champion. Despite receiving criticism for not consistently defending the title, Cargill continues to prove her doubters wrong, destroying everyone who dares to step up to her. In her first WrestleMania match, Cargill teamed with Belair and Naomi in a winning effort against Damage CTRL. At last year’s WrestleMania, Cargill defeated Naomi in a Grudge Match that stemmed from Naomi turning heel and attacking her, putting her out of action for a few months. Cargill will look to win her third straight WrestleMania match and continue her dominant run as champion.
All the predictions point towards Ripley winning the title, although a statement win for Cargill could solidify her world title reign. Ripley recently lost the Women’s Tag Team titles, and a desire to capture them again might cloud her judgment in her preparations for this important WrestleMania match. Cargill will look to take any advantage she can get in order to not only enter Allegiant Stadium as champion, but to walk out with the belt as well. If Ripley wants to reign as world champion once again, she will have to walk through the hurricane’s eye and hope she comes out unscathed.
